indicator question

Would someone please tell me how to interpert buy and sell signals off a macd historgram that has only one line. Most of the ones I have seen have two lines and when the lines cross this in considered a buy or sell signal.

I'm with you, I don't like the one line deal.

If you're on IB or any metatrader platform, put the attached into your indicators folder and you'll have the right MACD.

On IB's one liner, the histogram is the other line, so you'd see when the line crossed the histogram. I don't know if this is the way yours is, either way it's screwy and a dumb way to do it.
