Has anyone had a problem with IGMarkets???
I was today in a position with IGMarkets on the Aussie 200 index (Short ), logged on and off a few times. watching it fluctuate and watching gains grow when 60 points up..stopped out apparently 12 hours ago. Speaking to the dealing desk lead to no satisfaction whatsoever.
A very poor service and would recomend to no-one

IG Markets - Stay Away. I have had so many problems with them and no resolution, they do anything you can imagine against your trade. If anyone has any good to say about them, please do.

I have an IG Markets demo account. I did plan to open a live account, but I have heard so many horror stories about them so I decided not to in the end!

I do have an account with the sister site, IGIndex.co.uk from what I have seen, execution is pretty horrible. I only take longer term bets on currencies using currency future spread bets, they are medicore for this, the spread are quite big. The advantage is profits are legally tax free in the UK.

I have demo with IGmarkets and its secopnd time i cant log in.

I have live account with igforex.com and had no single problem yet, BUT i trade only small amounts and not any massive gains yet.

Anyway I fund and widhraw funds with no problem.
Also levarage is nice and depends on your SL

I've been with IG for over a year live, never had a problem. Perhaps explain your issue that you had with them clearer and it could show more clarity as to what exactly happened. Could be a rollover issue, has happened before.

In general not comlain yet [trade minilots so far with no big profits yet].

Today i've opened long EJ with 15 pips stop. Log out, go back after 15 minutes and saw it closed by SL placed one pip below my EO.

I called them, and lady told me that I have moved SL and that's the reason.
It's quite suspicious, gave them 0,5GBP, fortunately EJ didn't rocket up after that. Otherwise I would be very upset.

Hi. Anyone here trading live with IG Markets via their singapore base? Would like to know how is your experience with them so far if yes. I'm demoing with their PureDeal platform and it seems ok. Has anyone trading with them via their Level 2 Trading Platform also? Appreciate your feedback on this broker. Thanks.

I am using pure deal for Live trade...fr IG Singapore...
Not so bad... slippage can be high sometimes....but never fail to hunt ur SL thou...

thanks sonic for the feedback.. guess SL hunts, wide spread and platform freezes during certain time and period are things that we retail fx players have to factor in as part of the game plan.. as long is within a generally accepted range in the retail fx industry..

I just got SL hunt..before its goes my direction for 100 pips for more....I am thinking of changing..this s1ck br0ker now...

Trading live with their London office, haven't had an issue with them at all, very good. Haven't seen any stop hunts in my 2-3 years trading through them.

EDIT: I see I already commented on this thread before, I didn't realise. Anyway... I've traded basically in all their sectors, energy, fx, carbon, gold, shares (US, UK, Singpore, China) and all good. Their margins have been increasing though but that's happening around the world with others too so not much of a shock. You said you demoing with them? Where did you find the demo? Never knew they ever offered one.

Demo account only valid for 14 days.. and only for PureDeal access, not their L2 Dealer platform..

Pair? Time? Price? Screenshot? Backup Broker's Screenshot?

If none of the above are quoted, it did not happen?

yeh show the price spikes or some sorta screenshot, otherwise just hearsay.. you could be working for GFT or something, who knows...just saying

I had no problem with them , they r part of IGGROUP their annual net profit 65 m pound so they dont think of u at all . Maybe u have limited risk account with them ( stops attached to the trade when u open a trade ) .

I have never had an issue with these guy's.

A couple of my students did with slow orders but when approached they found that it was the anti virus software they were using and ig markets actually help them sort it out within 48 hrs, I thought that was pretty good of them.

I have been trading with them for over 12 months and have never had a problem, i trade both Forex and CFD'S and funding and withdrawing has always been very easy.

Can u find out from your students which antivirus(es) is /are causing the problem?

IG warns that avast may cose slowdowns, because of live scanning.

The programs are avast, nortons the only one that I know of that works well with ig markets is AVG.

If you want to use avast here is a post from one of my students who use to use avast, but I would just load AVG its free.

"The Avast! Internet Security program has been identified to slow down the overall performance if it has not been set up to ignore scanning the web streaming data from the IG Index or IG Markets websites.
If the Avast! has not been amended, then more than likely you would be
experiencing the following symptoms:
The PureDeal platform generally loads slowly
Prices are not moving in a timely fashion
Slow deal ticket prices
Confirmation tickets either take a while to be completed, or do not appear at all
Deal tickets freezing
Overall slowdown in the computers performance.

This document will quickly guide you through resolving these issues, and improve
your experience with the PureDeal platform.
Avast! Configuration
for IG Markets (v.1.3)
IG Markets Avast! Configuration for IG Markets (v.1.3)

Step 1:
Right click on the Avast! icon in the task tray (located
near the computer clock on the menu bar).
A menu will appear, select ‘On-Access Protection
Control’ menu item.

Step 2:
A Resident Protection box will appear. If this is the first
time that you are viewing this section it will appear in
basic mode.
To change the mode, press the ‘Details…>>’ button
If the box appears different to the one in the picture, please
go to step 3

Step 3:
In the advanced mode, on the left hand side of the box
there is a section called ‘Installed providers’. Scroll
down till you get to ‘Web Shield’.
Highlight that option, and then press the ‘Customize…’
button (located in the ‘Provider Configuration’ area)

Step 4:
Another box called ‘Resident task settings’ will appear.
Within this box select the ‘Exceptions’ tab.

Step 5:
Within the ‘Exceptions’, write in the section named URLs exactly as written to exclude the URLs then press the ‘Add…’ button.

Add the following websites to be excluded:
*.igmarkets.*
*.it-finance.*
*.marketdatasystems.*

Once the excluded URLs have been added, press the ‘OK’
button. This box will disappear and take you back to the
main screen.

Step 6:
On this main page, press the ‘Terminate’ button for the
‘Web Shield’ Component. This will allow the changes just
made to take affect. A small box will appear (as below), press the ‘Yes’ button
to continue.

Step 7:
Back on the main page, now press the ‘Start’ button to
reactivate this program with changes in effect.
Press the ‘Yes’ option in the box that follows.

Step 8:
The final step is to press the ‘OK’ button to close the
program and minimise it back to your windows taskbar."
