Bleeding off as I write; and a .50 Fed cut is worth perhaps a 600 move on the upside...all to be taken back soon enough. See you all at 4000.

Market is already anticipating that rate cuts won't be enough.. Whatever the size, the country, the minutes......

This is what Im thinking as well, but on the other hand..

If Obama wins the election, and economy start to recover by beginning of 2011, then we're in good shape for Obama re-election 2012.

If Obama wins the election, we slip into depression, and if we're still trying to find the bottom, this adds in fear, panic and global economy comes to a grinding halt. The blame will be on Obama for "not doing enough", and he won't get elected for 2012.

I think of this similar to Bush's ticket to white house the second term, because of attacks over middle east. He "tried" to capture terrorists, and we should put him in there so he can finish the job. Apparently, he didn't.
