DislikedIt's being tough to the senators as well...
Paulson and Bernanke are in strong position now - which means - approve it or we all die... So they take no proposals.
Today the senators proposed the approval of initial $150 billion, the rest on a wait-and-see basis... They rejected the proposal quickly...
Actually, if they approve an initial $150billion, the market is going to get so nervous that the plan will then get to $850 billion LOL...
I'm enjoying watching it, too. Slow days here + one heck of a situation going on... cīmon, $700 billion is almost my country's GDP for crying out loudIgnored
DislikedYeah...$150 billion...didn't the market just go through that like hot wax last week.

DislikedBuffet said today that if the plan is not approved, last week was the NIRVANA compared to what's to come.

DislikedThe (NBC / WSJ) survey shows that just 31 percent approve of the plan that Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, while 33 percent disapprove and another 28 percent have no opinion. The telephone poll of 1,157 registered voters, conducted Sept. 19-22, carries a margin for error of three percentage points.
The lack of consensus explains two major political developments: President Bush's decision to address the nation tonight around 9 p.m., and the decision by presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain to consult on the search for compromise. Mr. McCain went further, saying he would suspend his campaign and perhaps skip the first scheduled debate on Friday night in favor of working to pass the bailout package.
