They don't have the issue anymore to close and reopen positions over night and you can have an account in USD, EUR, GBP and CHF. The minimum deposit is $200, the standard leverage 1:100, which can be boosted to 1:400. They want to offer 1:500 in some days.

Currently you can only transfer money using a bank account (wire transfer) but they want to offer a credit card deposit possibility soon.

Withdrawing doesn't cost anything.

As I understand it they are 2 distinct entities and the only thing they have in common is shareholders.

makes me wonder if they did it on purpose, because of the huge gap.

Speaking with one of their accnt reps in NY, I was given the impression all three used the same servers. That was 3-4 months ago so things may have changed since then.
I have demo account with alpari UK. I've noticed that the margin for 1 lot is less than $1k. For GBPUSD it's $350+. And it changes as the exchange rate changes. Is this the same on a live account or is this just a glitch?

Where are u located? I run alpari UK on VS in USA and there the alpari servers werent down.
I am using a Live account right now had one trade and no issues with connection.

enjoying trading with Alpari.

I would stay away from Alpari US...a few of my trading buddies and I opened an account with them and had countless bad experience with them from huge slippage to slow withdrawels. Just thought I would warn people before they get the same.

2.13. The company's insolvency or default, may lead to positions being liquidated or closed out without your consent. In certain circumstances, you may not get back the actual assets which you lodged as collateral and you may have to accept any available payments in cash.

Oh at least the say the truth. There are very few market makers who have some kind of account insurance.

Actually I know 2 who have 20k account insurance (have live accounts with them): ABN MarketIndex, Saxo Bank.
I would go with forex brokers from bank divisions like dbfx (Deutsche Bank) and Citifx Pro (Citybank) and the ABN division.

I know some others might insure deposits, but I do hope when the crunch time comes, that those brokers paid the insurance premium

Have you noticed that Alpari UK swaps changed so they are all negative and they are huge? I just saw today EURUSD long position has -$1.40 for one night rollover!!! That means $2.80 negative swap for 1 mini lot, that is crazy.

Also, check out swap rates, almost same swaps for all currencies, all big, all negative no matter you go long or short!

I dont know for sure but there are a number of bots which have it the market that try to work out the best Arb/Carry trades to place based on swap differentials. Basically their trades values hover around zero but they make money out of the swap rates.

Its all very complicated when deciding which pairs to trade but it does work very well.

So, i am guessing that they are trying to stop this by just making all their swap values negative to combat what these bots are doing.
