I wondered with what amount of money should you enter so you move the market with one pip. So 1 pip = ? lots ?

Well, consider that the estimated daily volume is 1 trillion USD.

To move the price 1 pip for an instant, you'd need to place an order for at least 10 billion USD.

The daily volume is 1 trilion but on ALL curency markets , so it is not 10 bilion on pip and it is not 1 bilion either. There suould be a formula or something so you can calculate it.

It's more like 3-4 trillion now by what I heard..
Doesn't mean you need orders in the billions though, while the market is thin probably much less could move it for a pip, still much more than any (or who knows, maybe just most) of us got here. Don't see the point of wanting to do that, better to join the flow than try to force it.

Any none zero amount can move the market any number of pips.

It varies on the liquidity too. Take a quiet time, send an order for 100m, you could probably move the markets considerably. Of course it'd be against you, which means you wouldn't have that 100m very long... but hey, all's fair in love and forex.

Estimate


I a very raw estimation daily volume in FX Usd 3 trillion . 25% for eurusd so that makes per 24h in the eurusd 750 billion per day divided by 24 = 31.5 billion per hour divided by 60 =520 million in one minute divided by 60 = 8.6 million volume per second so I guess if put in a order which takes up the volume for 5 sec you will get some price influence so about 40 – 50 mil I guess

Depends entirely on the currency and circumstances. I seem to remember the last CB intervention that affected me was in June last year when the RBNZ threw money at the market to try to curb the upward value of the kiwi.
Over a holiday weekend If I remember right, ? Since the sums involved later became public.. maybe its a case you can google.

My recollection is that the sum was very small.. I mean in relation to the some of the sums talked about.. Moving the EURUSD is, Im sure, a different story..LoL
