Hey all! Sorry I've been missing in action, and thanks for your concern Bob. No I didn't give up, in fact I made all pips lost in the last 2 weeks plus the 50 pips. For those who stuck to it I'm glad you hung on and made the pips.

I didn't trade the day after that because as Bob said it was too big so I left it alone. And today is already Thursday so I figure I'd start fresh next week.

I've been travelling for work since Monday, so I didn't get a chance to post up my trades. Just got back home right now. In fact the 50 pips was made while I was still driving to my destination on Tuesday! All hail mobile trading

Thanks Jim, I did think to apply that to the MM, but maybe a few months down the line. I'd leave one lot open on trailing stop to catch more pips. Just want to be comfortable with a few things first before I start doing that.

The "box" is already 128 pips high...I think this indicates the volatility is too high to trade. Another signal service I use for G/J is not recommending a trade for this same reason.

If I do trade, it will only be for a microlot.

Congrats for making your target today

For me unfortunately connection was rather bad, but I roughly saw that it has been quite a large box already, about 100 pips, so I stayed out of today. But no worries as I'll try for tomorrow. We'll need to find an optimum size of the breakout size to determine whether to trade or not to trade.

Do you think there may be such a thing as a box also being too narrow...say 40-50 pips? Could this possibly indicate a ranging market, and therefore another market to avoid?

Yes a narrow box is definitely to watch out for but am not sure if 40-50 pips would be the magic number. 50 seems decent to be traded..maybe anything under 40 pips?
