how to trade news?

PLEASE can someone help... i desperatly want to start news trading but cannot find the best way to get economical results as they are announced.. any suggestions!!!!!!

Getting the news quick is the easy part.. all that takes is money. Finding and funding an account with a broker that will accomodate news trading is the hard part.

I am new to the "Forex Jungle" and trying some demo trading on news releases. Where can I find some info on the most important releases that has the most impact (moving the market the most) with regards to GBP/USD?

I normally find it hard to trade the news due to system freezing up or constant requotes, it all depends upon your broker. The way I trade news right now is to use the Amazing News EA, it always gets me in just before news time.

I don't think there is anyway you can get the numbers as they come out without paying for the feed. Sites which display the numbers are either locked up due to too many users or way too late [depends as to what you consider late].

News trading is one of the hardest system to be consistently profitable in....take it from a guy who's had his account taken to the cleaners a couple of times on news trading!!!!

First requirement is that U need decide the deviation trigger from the expectations....remember the market can have expectations but there needs to be a deviation from that expectations to a certain degree for the market to re-adjust that is what news trading is...one is basically trading the adjustment to the news which has been locked up under govt control...if it comes in at or close to the expectations then that has been priced in......
there are a number of places where u can get the triggers or an idea of these triggers for free....I would be happy to post it here but I m new to these boards and not sure what the regs. are in relation to putting the name of third party web page...(i know I know I clicked on the "i agree terms" bla bla...but never actually read it) Please let me know if i m allowed to do this

Second; One needs a pretty fast news service....this is where the problem is...as a news service subscription could be a helluva drain on the wallet!!

Third: A good broker.... very inmportant..one that does not re-quote, offers one click execution and very little slippage....and most importantly...one who's platform doesn't freeze on news releases...coz guess what by the time it unfreezes....dear old margie may have already called!!!!.....one may need to compromise here for instance go with a broker who widens spread etc....its a trade off...

ofcourse even if one doesn't have the news service if one has the other two factors going well...u can still trade the news after the first couple of seconds to mins...providing ofcourse there is sufficient room for the market to adjust...i e sufficient deviation....and this is where the historical facts and figures as to how much a particular event moves the market comes in handy...

Yep, thus the reason I gave it up and went after TAs. I realized that unless I had autoclick w/ HotSpotFXi, Currenex, etc... I would likely not ever make the money that I want to make. Even with them.. trading $200/pip or so on news spikes just to make monthly quota doesn't appeal to me.

I don't think too many serious traders trade the news. It's really just gambling.

However, try this: go long both the EUR and CHF OR short on both. Get out of the position that is in the red and try to capture as many pips as you can on the other. It's a little safer than gambling on one. The only problem is news will very often reverse hard and fast after the 1st burst. If you bail out of one position, you may quickly find yourself in the red on the other if that happens.

please this is so far from the truth.

the gambling part is for people who treat it that way. Some of the most succesful people I know on this board are news traders mostly.

When I see the spike I think many serious traders trade it... This is the reason why the market moves... And serious traders dont gamble..

I'm just a beginner and have demo trade on news and been successful so far. but thats about it.

The reason why there are spikes is because of how many traders are caught in a position in the wrong direction. Only the most talented should try news trading. Yes there may be many here that do it will, they are the exception.

Has anyone wondered during NFP spike for 150 pips who represented the other side of the transaction? If the news are so positive for US who would be selling USD?

What I dislike about news trading is your success highly depends on the efficiency of your broker and news provider. I hate counting on other people to make pips for me.

You have to understand when you trade the news (which I do not for the most part) that you trade what the market does, not what you believe the market should do.

React not predict.

I guess if you're new to forex news trading, I suggest you to do it on demo for 2 - 3 months and master everything related to it first, or you will risk losing a lot of money, even as an experienced trader, I moved from TA to try News trading, and as a result, I lost 4 times in a row, with a lot of money at the stake, It wasn't because I got the wrong prediction, but it seems that it takes more than having the right prediction to trade the news such as not clicking the close button after seeing a +20, then suddenly you realized the price move to the negative part before you close order being executed and then getting frustrated with that, you jump in to cover your lost, with a damn high spread during a news time, there is chance your profit won't be enough to cover the spread itself, and if the price move quickly to the original price, you gonna suffer even more. After losing so much money, you will get panic, and there you will lose even more cash if you trade the wrong direction....

If you still want to trade the news, GBPUSD is not a good idea for beginners...But who knows, it just me who sux in News trading and only do well with TA while you can be very successful with news trading...

I read this in a post somewhere else and it greatly increased my trading abilities. So i give all credit to the person who wrote it, but i dont really remember exactly who it was.
they said that everything you need to know about economic events is presented through candlesticks and technical analysis. If a pin bar forms before the time of a news event, then take the trade because that pin bar is showing that people are moving out of the way for the other ( bulls or bears) to take way and bring the currency into their side ( upside or downside).

thats basically it, if anyone does know who wrote it, mine does no justice to the way they wrote it. some people just have a better way with words. good luck in your trading career.
