spieler and all the good people of this thread, do you have any books you recommend that one can get on this style of trading as this is something new to me and its something I have been looking for for a very long time? spieler's system works but looking to add one more system.... spieler maybe you can share one of of your other systems,.. pushing my luck I know!!!

I'm not sure if I can post links here but if you do a webseeach for Joe Ross and spread trading he has part of a site dedicated to spread trading and there is a free news letter looking at different spreads that they take - they are mainly commodity futures but think the principals remain the same long and short two markets at the same time. He has also written a book on spread trading which looks at trading the spreads as you would a signal market i.e entrying the spread at a the break or touch of support or resistence. There is other free stuff there too and I cannot comment on anything they are trying to sell.

john ross books have nothing to see with this kind of trading.
As far as i can remember he is specialised in commodities like you said but doing calendar spreads or spreading same instrument but on 2 different places and things like that .
I dont know a book on this kind of trading but i dont know everything ( only almost )

Hi Spieler + everyone,

I went long last night at 18:12 GMT decorelation was at -0,33% (I waited a little as I could feel some speed passing the -0,25%), EUR/CHF was at 1,6105

I went out few minutes ago ( i was out for the day ) at 15:29 GMT around EUR/CHF being at 1,6165... (approx 0% correlation of yesterday not today...)

that's a nice 55 pips not bad for few hours of trading...

I cut the one loosing leg and kept the winning one a little bit longer with only few pips of gain... at least i tried...

Opened shorts @1.6169. Actually it is .35% level, but the price was moving quite fast, so I waited until it slowed down a little bit.

Anybody else shorting?

Peikko I support you for spieler to write a book. I know Joe Ross, the Ross hook chap, his spread trading is not the same as this as far as I know I might be wrong as I have not read any of his books except the free material on his site.

Oh no, oh please, no!!! Do not add any other systems. I've seen so many times here in FF experienced successful trader is sharing his system, and here goes a bunch of Alexanders from Macedonia, who just look and conquer any system by adding "improvements". And later the nice profitable thread is gone, everybody looses, and who is to blame? - the author of the thread 'cause his/hers system "doesn't work anymore".
Please, don't do ir here!

It would seem that more than one account is required. While the shorts are a go at .35%, I am still waiting to unload my longs.

On the topic of shorts.

(no idea if the broker is any good or not) Crown Forex - no swaps - no commission - 1 pip on majors.

That's exactly what I was looking for all last night. Crown Forex - requotes and dealing desk! Moe suggested ODL - he has account there (they have MT4 and currenex platform also - promise to integrate it into MT4. Moe is not the guy who would use a bad broker. Check ODL.

Sorry, my mistake. atcbrokers have currenex and MT4 - also recommended by Moe. BTW check by yourself, 'cause memory is not good when I am not sleeping enough.

Thinking about it...

Why can't you create a composite of long and short with 1 broker?

If I am suppose to be long 2 positions from the previous trade, and now short 1 position from the current trade - If at 2 brokers the net result from a P/L standpoint is from 1 long position.

Long 2 positions at Broker A
Short 1 position at Broker B

= Net long 1 position.

I am trying to boost results by looking at high swap yields. Crown is the only one I know of that doesn't pay nor charge a swap. In the end, the trade has to get done at the right price or there is no benefit. Assuming short 50% of the time, I guess the savings would be about 5 pips a week per position.
