Frequently I've found 0.9 pip spread on Oanda with EUR/USD. On MB Trading, you have a min 1 pip spread because of the commission, and then everything after that is extra.

Why would anyone use MB Trading over Oanda? For higher spread pairs?

because MB Trading is a True ECN Oanda is not. plus you get better spreads and fills during news and off hours as well compared to Oanda. people prefer to pay commission + spread to trade trough a ECN.

LOL. Yes big because they stole all of their clients money. You get that part right? Where do you think their net cap came from?

In that case i would prefer Oanda.

MBT has a very worse ECN data feed / spreads + high commission.

The less people trade on news events.

Index Ventures put a ~140 Mil stake into Oanda, thats the bulk of their posted net capital.

It would also help if you could provide any details on how exactly they steal funds from their customers. I guess it must be customers other than me.

You will put your money to a risk with FXDD(not regulated by NFA OR
FSA). And my friends consider its MM platform a pure bucket shop/garbage!!
FXDD Currenex has a worse spread comparing to the others .
No reason to go with Fxdd!

First of all FXDD is a NFA member:

http://www.nfa.futures.org/basicnet/...d=0397435&rn=N

I wrote i would only take business with their currenex platform.
And the currenex spreads are good.

Hi guys,

if it's of any help to you - i'm trading with Oanda for 3 years now. Spread is ok, uptime is perfect and i can trade on my Mac because it's Java platform.
Never had any "typical" broker problems except once when i had 9 lots open in a trade and i closed it at b/e because of upcoming news. Well, after few hours i logged in to check the market and i found myself 40 pips in losing trade - because of some "server problems" my trade was never closed!!! . Long story short - i was lucky enough to have market go in my favor half an hour later but it could be a total disaster.

Money withdrawal, deposits, technical support - everything is superior.

I have accounts with Oanda, MB trading and FXDD Currenex.

For infrequent or longer-term/overnight trading, Oanda is my preferred choice. They are big/secure and have 24/7 trading and decent interest rates.

For frequent, short-term trading/scalping, I use FXDD Currenex. Even though the spreads may be wider than Oanda or MB trading, the execution (and thus overall profitability) is better.

During volatile times(and that means not only during news but when price suddenly moves a lot), Oanda will lag your platform so this will give them time to manipulate "WHAT YOU SEE" on your platform. I've seen this three times and they will tell you it's your slow internet connection which is not true especially if you have another broker's platform.

The lag can be from 2mins to 3mins(at least that is what I've experience in the last few days since I was victimized). The most important thing when you experienced this and if you are in profit and you can't change the TP or Stop Loss, switch immediately to lower TF, like 1min or 30secs, and try to save as much images as possible.

And "NEVER EVER" close the trade manually especially if you see another broker price has already goes against your trade. You will see your closed trade in a losing position even if you see you are in profit in Oanda's platform.

The lag technique is useful to them especially when price moves like "up" then suddenly went "down" in a minute or two. This will make traders makes mistakes who thinks they still have an opportunity to profit or if they are already in a trade, thinks they are in profit since what they see is that price is still going up but the fact is, prices had already gone down.

Why did I say save as much images? Sometimes, it will give you the proof or evidence that you need. But you should not tell them about it. Complain to them first and see what their explanation is.

Another thing is during volatile times, it will be very hard to close your trade manually especially if you are in profit and you can see another broker's price is in the direction of your trade. Even if you try to change TP or Stop Loss to close your trade, it will be very difficult but still possible. So better put TP and/or Stop Loss when you make a limit buy/sell or when entering a trade.

So far, those are the problems I've noticed but overall, it's still good to trade with Oanda.

I'm staring at oanda and MBT quotes pretty much all day(MB for charts, oanda for execution). MB spreads are very constant throughout the day, i see e/u 0.9 u/j 1.2 and g/u 1.9 90% of the time. I don't see any dramatic discrepancies in pricing between the 2 companies (give or take 0.5 pip, but mostly in lockstep). The only real difference is during announcements, oanda widens the spread to 10 or 20 pips depending on pair, MB won't, or to a much lesser extent. In my opinion both firms aren't a bad choice. Never noticed Qwert's lag or slippage-problem either (and i keep track of slippage programatically).

I have been with Oanda almost 6 years now..... this has never been a problem. So I am not sure where you are getting your info, also Oanda is automated, there is no dealing desk.

I'm sorry Tradestar1 if I didn't make my post clear. I was the victim so it came from me and not from another source.

Shrike: I still have the emails that Oanda sent me admitting slippage and the lag but they say it's because of my internet connection. I won't post these emails or sent them to any strangers since it wouldn't do me any good. I just want to warn traders what they should avoid and do when confronted with these situations. Also, don't stare at the prices but look at the charts/candles of Oanda and another broker. That is where you will see the lag very clearly.

As I've said before, it's still good to trade with Oanda.

/Robert Redford, movie called "The Sting"?? If not you should take the time to do so...The plot is quite applicable to forex brokers.. I am becoming more and more convinced that the only way to profit here is by setting fixed price targets and even then there is a possibility that your broker will not allow the price to reach your target???

I have been with Oanda for over 5 years now, I am looking for a secondary broker though. The spread does widen during news with Oanda but honestly, its no surprise there and usually it comes back down after a few minutes. Just don't get caught over leveraged during news release and you are good. The 0.9 spread is still the best ive seen out there. They are a solid company

yeah but their charting isn't particularly appealing.
