Did I read that jacko went short in the last few weeks.
I take on borad what you guys wright but if
the charts starts on the top left to the bottom right
from the daily to the hourly and the kids(always a sleeping when you need them) in bed it looks
like it on the down, trade the trend
Yous have now be waiting over 20 working days or 1000 pips
and big losses on the 1.53 call 350 pips ago.
I will join you and sit on my hands.
To balance things out, the anti-hedge is, as I have written before, a stroke of genius. I apply it in another strategy I use.

Re-read the first 10 posts by Jacko. It's still an uptrend on D1.

There is one key to remember....on the first page Jacko talks about the major trend and zooming out your chart BUT he also says:
DETERMINE THE TIME FRAME THAT YOU WANT TO TRADE (and note where the chart starts top or bottom)

If I trade 4 hour chart...it is going south and I can still say I took advice from this thread (fib and tl) if I short simply because my time frame is south. There are quite a few from both groups that have taken shorts and could simply be that their time frame is also yelling short. It doesnt invalidate the advice from the first page.

Another good positon to lose or gain money depending on your bias.

Humor excused....seems a day like Friday brings out all the trolls.

Very astute reasoning on your chart...not a real good place to long though considering the gap opened up under your level...on my platform at least.
As my old english teacher used to say bless him , one only swears because they cannot express themselves clearly.He must have had GOOD in mind when he coined that expression.

I am still Nursing a free trade at the moment, no 100 pip stop loss. My stop is now at entry.

Market is still looking towards a $ bias I feel, next stop for the Euro ?

Closed out manually with very small profit, awaiting confirmation of new direction B4 entering new trade.

It is so very easy to pull the trigger and throw crap responses (as we have seen over the past 2 weeks) when the market is in a retracement or even a reversal. The thing that these highly ingnorant and arrogant people have missed is Jacko and those on board for the last year or more, have ridden this up trend from the early 1.2000 days.

For those who are not happy with the AH strategy that is your option, but dont come here pulling piss comments such as you can do better. Size up your account with some of those who have been on the train for longer, you might just blush at your stupidity

I've been viewing the forums on FF for quite some time now and have been trading Forex for about 5 years...currency futures for about 11...it seems to me that everyone wants to find the holy grail to this thing we call the market and guess what - their isn't any...keep it simple. Price patterns..for they do not lie..news events can be wrong...however it's people's reaction to these events that we look to capitalize on and that is found in the price action of the charts..thus the combination of people's reaction as evidenced thru price action is what we are looking to "react' to...not predit..simply react...for me, the easiest way to determine the major trend is to begin by looking at the largest time frame first - and then skew in to each time frame below until you are at the time frame you want to trade. If on the weekly chart the price failed to make a higher pivot high, then we know that the UPTREND is about to change and turn into a sideways trend before either going back up - or - dropping as shown by the weekly chart. If I am a day trader and am trading off of my 15M charts, then yes, I am conscious of the major trend, however there are many opportunities to capitilaze on both sides - just understand that countertrend trades on the 15M charts will meet resistance on the pivots found on the 1H charts. Keep it simple. Buy the dips on uptrends...Sell the rallies on Downtrends..keep good moneymanagement and shoot for a minimum a 2:1 ratio, possibly more with trailing stops..follow one system..follow one currency and become a pro at it and you will make a very good living in this market. It's not about more wins than lossess..it's about greater size wins than losses....that's my 2 pips on my first post...thank you.

Excellent first post! Most are asking for some sort help that could be had by starting at the beginning of the thread in question. Or worse just asking for an outright tip!

Refreshing for someone new to jump in and add value.

Thank you Sean. I agree with you - looking for entry and exit points is definitely not the high road to making money in this business. One cannot trade another person's experience. It must be gained thru your own experiences as you both win and lose money. That is the price of education. However once you have passed thru the fire and come out the other side you will have learned a means to support yourself for as long as you want to play this game. Now that is priceless!

Jacko has answered every single one of my emails within 24 hrs.

He also posts to his Blog on a daily basis, many times 4 or 5 times a day.

He also takes the time to post relevant emails and responses.

He also sends SMS messages to alert people to trades and important posts.

In addition he is starting a managed fund, which is occupying much of time.

You're right, I made a trade at just about the level on your chart and added a 100 pip profit to my account. Add that to the 2 100 pip trades from last week and its looking pretty good.

All of this based on what I have learned from Jacko.

Come on everyone, Forex Factory is a GREAT Forum, because the Mods do not put up with people talking crap.....For what ever reason you don't like someone's method ...fine, don't visit the thread...I personally don't like onions, so instead of talking down onions and people that like onions, I DON'T order then when I get a hamburger.....
I have been waiting for posts like this to start coming in, I don't think a lot of people understand what is going on.....Jacko's methods is a Trend following method for the LONG term TREND. At the moment the usd is gaining,( no one thought that the EURO would go straight up, did they) but look at the weekly and monthly charts, the up-trend may be paused, but it has not been broken. I wonder what people thought when he was shorting the euro back in 2005.
Jacko's method works (only if it is right for you). For those of you that don't know, any method that will work has rules to keep it out of market conditions that it will not work in.....So what do you do when the rules say to stay out of the market.........either stay out and be patient, or have another system for that kind of market condition.
I hope that great traders like Jacko come back.......but if he does not, I can't blame him, would you? It is no wonder such a high % of new traders fail, if you can't see why....you will be next.
I know that FF has free speech, but can the mods please clean up the trash in this thread?
