quick question on outside bar?

Hi guys,

I just had a question question on what outside bars do? I tried to google it, but barely anything came up except for some definitions. What I m interested in is their use...are outside bars used for breakouts at ither direction (bull/bear)? Also except for outside, inside bars, are there any other type of breakout bars or reversal bars? thanks
