I was only meaning we were in the area of daily trendline. I never look for an exact to the pip (or even within 10-15 pips for that matter) reaction. More important is the reaction to the reaction. Is there follow through movement.

I.E. 1) Daily bar close below and then continuation in same direction or 2) Hold and reverse back up.

I was watching your strategy after the London Open.

Short Entered at 1.9669 Candle open and had a 33 pip drawdown, but did go for the 50 pip profit on the 1st Lot, and 35 additional on the 2nd Lot.

Total was 85 pip profit using this crossover method.

Do you have a Third Lot option that would run until the crossing back up?

Thanks, I will be watching for the cross upwards also.

Cable Guy, from the charts you showed, my estimation for the middle BB would be the 1.9631 area.

1.9622, 1.9630, and 1.9647 are all points of interest.

If the Price increases upward and bounces off the Bolinger middle line and drops - I will Short there, but if it breaks through, Then go Long.

Hi,

Thanks for the bolinger band tips you have posted and shown how to use. I have to be the DUMBEST SOB on the planet. Yet I can follow this easy.

I am long but went long to late and I realized it when I did it. (Long since 1.9574).

Looking forward to working this with you and moving on with the thread.

I entered on this at the cross under after London Open today, I had no stop set on my position, and had 2 targets set.

1st Lot +50 pips
2nd Lot + 35 pips

I am waiting for price to go upwards back towards the middle of BB, then will enter a Long if it breaks the middle line with a candle open above.

Or if the Candle rises and bounces downward off of the middle BB, I will re-enter a Short there, but not with the same Lot target. It would be a enter-exit strategy in regards to price and candle formations.

My primary entry and exit is as stated above with 1 and 2 lots only.

I am running test now on letting a 3rd Lot run in case of a larger move that happens.

Good system there, TheCableGuy. I want to ask something. Do you ever use the outer bands of the BB to help deciding your entries? The middle line of BB period 55 is exactly SMA 55. If we use SMA 55 instead, will this system be affected? Thanks in advance for the answer.

Yes, I place the outer BB for several reasons. One is too help identify the movement and its retracement values. This also give me good scalping indication, especially if the price breaks outside of the outer edge of the BB.

Also, when the price enters back into the BB Range, I will wait for the Middle Line to be either breached for a new entry, or a bounce back towards the direction it has come.

There are many ways to trade this scenario, and when I get into the scalping part of BB range, I will switch to a 15, 5, 1 Min, or Tick to get a precise entry and exit within this hourly time frame.

This is just several ways to make pips when it seems the market is at a stand still.

I expect the downward movement to continue during the Frankfurt and London sessions.

Yesterday's session pushed prices downward, and the retracement value only reached the 23.6% value which usually means a continuation in the same direction.

Will be watching a spike in the first hour or so of open time, then will be expecting a move down from there.

Entry will be placed at the high of Frankfurt for a Short position, but only if my strategy rules are met, and not exceeded.

That what I was thinking. The middle BB is just an SMA so what you have here is just another price crosssing MA strategy. If it works then great but MA strategies are notorious for lagging and whipsawing you out in choppy markets.

It was a gamble to enter at that level before the interest rate announcement. If the BofE had hiked rates your stop could have been taken out with 100 pips slippage. With any technical system you should be keeping an eye out for fundamental risks.

interest rate has been announcement 22 hour before monarch post.
