Take a look at the cable today. Is it just me or is it just totally random thus far?

I can't understand, are you saying that you see today as random in cable??? Can you post a chart and reveal your point??

Thanks,

Nader

If its not obvious from your chart then its hardly going to be more so looking at mine. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there is some sense to the price movement, but I can't see it yet.

Are not the markets always random ?

Cable just stuck in a range.

1.7506 Session High
1.7488 Pivot +++++++++++++++++++++++
1.7479 Recent High

1.7447 Recent Low (After News)
1.7444 Session Low

I believe that price action shows the struggle between the bulls and the bears. As such this mornings session was quite a fight. With no real direction and "dodgy" price action, what the outcome would be was anybodys guess.

2pm swung around and reports came out. You can see the immediate reaction and then, there we have it again, the struggle resumes. Once again there is a struggle for control and , as of right now now, no directional bias what so ever.

My view is normal directionless movement in the price action.

Can you ever interpret directionless price movement another way rather than directionless or random

Thanks,

Nader

Good for longs of Session low, shorts from Session High or 1.7479ish area then, with tight stop ?

We would be in trouble if we thought the market was not random at any time.

Prices can move sideways in a "normal" fashion. When I say "normal" I mean swing high/low drifting. However I don't really consider todays action normal. Today is without a doubt random because it did not follow that pattern and there was no clear range.

I am not closely watching the GBP/USD, so I can't deeply analyze the price action as you might do, but I know that price has the right to move where ever they want, and to choose the way they want to move and the method of moving without informing us or giving us any warning or alarms

Thanks,

Nader

Ahhh a comedian!!!!
You're quite right of course, but this day has been abnormally ugly.
Its not easy to trade the cable anyway but this is ridiculous.

Well usually I'll get whacked for a couple of bucks which will cause me to sit back for a while. After much thought and a few cups of tea. I'll decide that things look pretty awful. I then walk the dog.

After coming home sit down, tea in hand and have another look. If things still look awful I'll sit out. If there is a defined range I may have a crack at a play or two.

Then I have to decide what I'll have for lunch......and that takes time.

I thought today was one of the more predictable days for cable.

Basically trading off the 2 and 4 hour trendlines. I used them during the Asian session to see that cable should retrace back to those trend lines, I predicted it would be around 500, so went long and got out at 490. Then I went short when It bounced off the 2 hour trendline...got out real quick there, it just plummeted.

Well done!
I'm ashamed to say I missed that one. Especially since I use a 2hr chart!!!
I think maybe I should cut back on the tea and slow things down a tad.

Here's a simple trade. Buy USDCAD now. Red lines are stop and target. What do you think, StirlingTDR, my good friend?
