james16 Chart Thread

point taken , i am a book worm hope that price action makes me read markets like a book, i am seriously feeling lucky

I just joined the James16 group, and I am just getting started on identifying these pinbars, so I just wanted to see if I am identifying what really is a real pinbar.

Is that a pinbar on the 4 hr chart that just passed with the open and close within the next bar and we are in an overall uptrend and just on a significant retracement of that up trend?

yeah that's a good one for sure but if you ask me i don't want to look upon it as a Tc pattern. the last 48 hours have truly belonged to the bears in this kind of a situation a long even when it's from pin bar is not a good idea to me,

i may ofcaorse be wrong but i pass this one acording to my criteria...anybody going long?

im going to give this a shot ezz (disclaimer: everything IMVHO and i'm still a novice)

1. NZDUSD; has an I4B forming after a bullish bar and after another retracement from downward momentum since february; personally, i have lost too much money playing IB's (prior to james16) and stay away from them for timing trading "entries" at this stage of the game (check the thread for more discussion on how to play these); lately, i wait until the bars from another type of signal (i.e., DBH, dbl PB, etc.) to make any decisions

2. CADJPY; this PB signals an up move from an up move, but seems to be more of a retracement from the previous short which has now stalled out to form a sideways market; any play to the upside also seems to have a lot of resistance from it getting anywhere in any type of hurry

3. USDCAD; bearish I4B after a bearish bar in a very sideways market overall (in long term short) and lately, this pair reacts at 2 & 3 cents from a buck repeatedly (either direction); however, (if i've done this correctly) there is fib confluence creating support b/w 10010 & 10015 which does make this tempting ...

4. USDCHF; nice looking dbl PB signaling a long, but this pair has been short trending probably for as long as the euro has been uptrending; this present long seems more like a sideways move; 10349 might be tough to get past

5. EURCHF; PB to the longside which will meet wall of resistance beginning at 6155

so, i'm going to go out on a limb here and say none of these are classic "A" set-ups .... from what i've gleaned from reading this thread. i think there are some intermediate to advanced traders that might take some of these set-ups, b/c they know how to stay out of trouble, but the essence of trying to find a james16 set-up is to capture a move that has a lot of pip potential (more than 100 pips w/ good R/R) that can be played using a trailing stop and taking out some profit along the way. these might end up as b/e propositions.

anyone care to provide me with some feedback of my analysis?

USDJPY looks like a possible PB setup today to buy at the 50% retracement area of 104.40 area... "Plan The Trade And Trade The Plan!"

Keeping my eye on U/J & Cable (bearish div included!)

While looking at that daily, check out the monthly chart, would you consider it to have closed bearishly? If so, then would you also consider to wait in order to short instead of going long here? Aha! Got ya thinking now (hopefully lol).

I plan on adding long btw (already am long from yesterday), but only until bearish PA comes up on the 4 hour charts.

I'm thinking along the same lines. We've got no shortage of setups today (1 hour left pending), but there isn't anything that's screaming at me (at least not yet).

BTW, anybody short Euro off yesterday's daily pin? I stayed away because of what could become heavy PPZ support I had drawn at .5815 after the breakout long, and it's been toying with that level for a good portion of the day now. Just wondering if anybody else is watching/trading this, and what your thought processes were here.
