UK Brokers

Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a good UK broker/spread betting firm, I have checked this area and cannot find much useful information.

Thinking of going with FXCM, I am not scalping, generally holding positions for a day, though looking for someone who will hit TPs without too much issues.

As your not scalping then spreadbetting may be your better option. I've had no issues with capital spreads or igindex. If you close your positions before the end of the day you won't be charged any interest/rollover.

IG were always ok with me too. Had more slippage type issues than I get at Oanda though.

Also agree that if you are holding for more than a day the rollover charges of spread brokers are an issue (position is closed and opened every day and therefore spread charged daily).
If you are trading cable and euro it may not be a big deal but GBPCHF etc can be very expensive if paying spread every day.

It's very easy to open an Oanda account and it doesn't bother me they are not UK.

Oanda does seem a popular choice - i don't mind paying rollover, but Oanda charge to put money into your account and also charge to take money out.

i bet you are also losing on the exchange rate, no?

Nope. No charge to put money in if you do a bank transfer. Its done via a UK bank and will be a GBP denominated account if you want.

There is a charge to take money out but as long as you are not taking small amounts all the time it isn't that much.

Confirm the with Oanda but was the case when i checked.
