I guess Jacko made more than 1 mil, he usually trade 200 round lot per trade but he started with a fat account (300k if I remember right).
Btw actually I'm following a blog where a veteran professional trader (Joel Rensink also know here as TheRealThing), started a challenge to show that it's possible to turn a tiny 500$ into 150.000$ in less than 10 years (that it the same to turn 3500$ in 1 mil) and he explain how his methods works (everything 100% for free).
It's the best reading that I had on forex (and trading in general) since long time really worth to read it.

Kermut, I've been trading index futures for a number of years. I've recently, over the last few months moved into forex. Better liquidity and leverage is the reason.
Why a million dollars? Because that's what I'm aiming for as my first target. Once I've achieved that, then I'll ask "anyone made $10 million".
Ignored
OK, then I'll assume that you have been trading the index futures successfully. Still don't understand the purpose of your question, as I can not see you gaining anything to add value to your trading. Since you have already been trading markets for a while, this wouldn't be the type of motivation needed to keep you doing it.

Like I said, this market gives you the ability to make as much money as you want, be it 1M or 10M. You've just got to be ready to take it. As another person in this thread said, ask yourself, are you ready to make that 1M?

Still, all the best with your trading and your quest.

Regards,
K.

I thought there would be a few here that have made a million or a few hundred thousand at least (since this is the best/largest forex forum in the world).

maybe it is less than 1% that are profitable...

Dimitrius,

If I'd made $1m from trading, I wouldn't be persuaded into stating it publicly, and I expect that many others feel the same way. Like Rabid says, it would likely attract a lot of negative attention. Whenever I see a post from some guy boasting about how much he's made, I suspect he's either a system seller or an attention-seeking wanna-be. Usually it's apparent from the language used in the post. I guess it's a bit like the old proverb "those who know, don't say; and those who say, don't know".

Also, it's a question of capitalization. Assuming you have a real edge, it's going to be a lot quicker getting to $1m if you start with a $200k account (or fund), as opposed to $10k.

Skyline mentions TheRealThing. He's apparently been trading for more than 25 years. I recall one of his posts where he said that to make $1m, you need to aim for $10m in profits, because there will be $9m in losses along the way. That's simply due to the nature of the markets, and the way this business works. If you want to read the post, here's the link: http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?p=205799

Good luck,
David

But also, if you're asking who's made 1mil, i think your expectations are largely outta whack. IMO, most newcomers seem to want the quick buck. Once you're comfortable working for the money and once you understand it won't come overnight, you'll make your money.

Well personally, i think its inspiring to see a trader make it from the small time to the bigtime.

No, not everyone is going to do it, but at least it is some kind of confirmation it is possible

Though i can see why no one really will admit or acknowledge that they have done it, cause they'll either be called a fraud or that they are trying to sell something.

A newbie with dreams of a fast buck, will quickly come crashing down to reality anyway, whether you or me posts we made a million or two.

True. But focusing at what they have in the end instead of how they make it there most likely will lead you nowhere. You'll want the gain, but not the pain.

Most likely, as it happens in my own country, they will leave forex forever, branding it as a "sin" like gambling.

Hey SL
I knew that I had read that somewhere but then I remembered that Jacko barely touched his fat account because his first trades were winners. Jacko says to trade safe and try to play with the markets money.
I guess that this post is the one that I was thinking of.
http://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...4&postcount=85

He is an rare type of trader. Very generous. Very modest. Very, very good.
I have increased my account by 72% in 7 weeks since I joined his second group.

Yes Forexfixer, he also said that it was a little bit lucky when he started and only used 3000$ from his starting account, then win after win he increased lot size accordingly and he's still playing with market money.
I'm too in the second group and even if i'm not yet profitable following his entries (due to that bad countertrend trades) I'm recovering my losses week after week and I'm very happy with his trading style

Cheers,
Skyline

Since joining Jacko's group I have seen trading in a whole new light.
It is not merely a disorganised series of buying and selling of different currencies. It is a strategic and calculated system of trading that takes all the pressure off when looking at the market.
He also has a more holistic approach that includes a view of trading as a total business, not merely random trades that is something more akin to gambling.

Jacko sees trading as a lifelong business that can be conducted anywhere, anytime by anyone.

Jackos group is the best deal in Forex. He is the real deal. Where else are you going to be able to talk to a guy who trades 200-300 Euro Lots at a time? He answers every one of my emails when I have wanted to ask something. And he answers them within 24 hours
There is no bullshit in his blog. He trades live and gives us hours of warning about his upcoming trades
As to having to pay for the blog, I have recouped my joining fee many times over and I have only been a member for a short period.

If you are serious about trading as a career and lifetime business you wont do better than to contact Jacko and see if there are any more spaces in the second group.
I did and its money well spent.
