If I remember correctly, they already own about 30% of the worlds gold reserves. Also, Year to date Inflation around 25% in Russia.

Was asking because of the spike we just saw in Gold and Silver. Broker said it was linked to Russia purchasing gold and building up its reserves.

It might prove interesting if this translates into a global trend

"The Russians" were out of the gossip radios for some time. There were days they used to spook the market with huge out-of-the-blue moves in the carry trades....

But I didn't see anything about them on gold

June 26 (Bloomberg) -- Citigroup Inc. and Merrill Lynch & Co. had their second-quarter estimates cut by analysts at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. on expectations for additional writedowns.

And oil cracking the $140 barrel mark......

Bernanke is probably wishing right now that they would of raised rates...

Now FOMC has to wait until August, which might be too late or crack the whip now with a surprise hike and worry about the dead later.....
