15 pips is better than a loser of any size, but it hardly seem worth turning the pc on for. But I also understand everyone is not the same when it comes to trade size, profit expectations and time alloted to trade.

Top of the morning to all!!
So now we have the "Cable Update GBP/USD" thread and the "Daily Cable Analysis" thread...certainly there's a distinction that makes a difference between the two, just escapes me. Old faces but some new names too, traders who sound quite experienced.
Slow news week for me - USD ISM, Bernanke, USD non-farm productivity q/q, BOE rate statement (definitely won't raise this month) - to name a few. If you guys and gals don't mind, I'd like to drop in this week and try to make a call or two, even toss in some TA with the FA and PA.
Now Qwiktrader, where'd I put that fib thingy????

No standard pip placements for news straddles as: (1) each announcement is peculiarly unique with its own characteristics that must be considered in light of the political-socio-economic climate at the time and (2) broker platforms process news trades differently; yes I trade the spike (that's "Big Boy" stuff), and the retracement (or "fade" as Merlin calls it); and 15-30 pips TP is fine, depending on the announcement's historical movements. Particularly fine when trading large lot sizes (gotta love that leverage!).
