I read an article that said that scalpers make more returns then any other type of trader. What do u think? im not for or agianst but i was wondering your opionion.

Baloney

Check out the weekly or monthly chart of EUR/USD for example. Besides, I'd hate to pay the spread 20 times/day. The cost does add up. Plus the stress and having to babysit your monitor.

Long term is the way to go!

If you can Call Every little fluctuation in a Market, Why would you ride the bumps instead of adding to your cargo?

I wouldn't recommend scalping to someone I cared about if they where new to this market. It's like giving an arcade-game to someone and only let him play at level 10 instead of level 1.

There was an interview on cnbc with a successful day trader who made quite a lot of money and was featured in a book. He took over 250 trades a day on stocks.

So we can wrap this up now based on the current examples by concluding that there is no one right way, thereby avoiding a 100 pages of drivel.

I scalp the EUR/USD and I can attest to the fact that it is not more or less profitable than other styles of day-trading.

Mind you, correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, one roundturn trade means a buy and a sell---or vice versa. So that Fritz does 16 to 28 trade a second!!

Waow! If I do that many trades for 5 minutes alone, I'll be the prime candidate for Bellevue.

Thank God for giving me a system of which I only trades 2 rt per day. Sometimes less, sometime more, but never exceed 3 rt/day.

Scalping rules!

Jump-in with big-lots on 1 sec TF, take few pips and done for the day, within a hour or even minutes...

Why scalping is profitable:
-Even with 1% profit per trade, it is theoretically possible to turn 1000 USD into 308397 USD in 576 trades (2.5 min cycles per day)
-Typical price value change with 1:100 leverage is from 01%-40% per cycle

150,000 - 250,000 contracts .. he trades thousands of contracts per click and he is very real. he has an investment firm called rotter invest.

Well I believe scalpers can make a higher ROI compared to position trading. With position trading you'd need wider stops whereas with scalping, your stops would generally much nearer. So with a 5000 dollar account, one could scalp a commodity contract, FX contract or index contract and make perhaps 200-500 a day IF the person is good. That wouldnt be a bad ROI would it? Whereas with a 5000 margin, you could position trade with what, a 50 tick stop? or maybe even less depending on the contract.

I agree, a good scalper can earn 4-10% a day with 100:1 leverage sometimes more sometimes less. I know people will come on here and say "not possible", "prove it", or "you can't keep that up" now we wait lol...

Wow, hallo Mr. Paul R. I didn't know you join this forum as well. Thank you for clarification of your interview. Guess that reporter whom interviewed you had forgotten to type in "contracts" in his reports.

Phew, for a moment then I thought you are some kind of an alien whom could trade that fast using an advance technology from your home planet.

Doesn't matter how wide the stop are. What matters is what your R:R is. If you're scalping it means you are aiming for a couple of pips on each trade, meaning your spread is relatively VERY expensive, plus your SL is gonna be much more than your TP.

I'm not a scalper, but I have huge respect for those who can scalp successfully and consistently. It requires a lot of skill (and balls).
