When price closes above 89SMA it is still in a bullish market so we describe it as +1. But when price closes above 89SMA and the 8EMA the market is even in a stronger bull, therefore we describe it +2. And vice versa, when the price closes below the 8EMA and the 89SMA the current market rhythm is -2 bearish.
This might confuse you a little first, but when you go to Palmer's website: www.fxtradeblog.com go to The Method and click on Market Rhythm and you will see how simple to understand this is with graphs included.
So before I make you more confuse, go and check it out.

Song,

Hi, people!

I have been in this thread for some time already but it's only several days that I have finished reading it from the beginning. It took quite some time for me (about 3 months) but what I would say to the
newcomers who might be thinking if it's worth to do or not - for sure, for me without any doubt it was useful. And I think that if you have serious plans for trading and for this particular system, I
think that such efforts and time are the proper "investment" at start. Besides reading (this or, later, other threads) may be a good way to be occupied when you feel your hands itching to get into a
doubtful trade. Finally, I must say that reading the thread which is not so small also trains patience which is never extra in this game.

What I wanted to present to you is the wiki-site that I've created while going through the thread - marketrhythm.wik.is . It has links to maybe ~98% of main materials of this Phillip's 4H MACD thread
up to page 1035, ordered in categories, with short description to each. As all links direct to posts on the thread, I think that ForexFactory shouldn't be against it. As this is a Wiki (as wikipedia.org)
everybody who is eager to participate in filling this site are welcome. I will update it myself but if/when I feel that I can't do that anymore, I'll delegate admin's rights to somebody from the community.

I hope that this project will help everyone on the thread and especially the newcomers and stimulate its further development.

At that stage I could not trade during working hours and those hours was after work hours here in South Africa. In the meantime I can trade(limit internet access) during working hours so I normally trade the 08:00 12:00 and 16:00 candle (Gmt+2 remember to allow for DST) and sometimes the 20:00 candle if there is news that late.

I am not sure about the easterntime here. Can someone help please.
Ignored
I believe this equates to 2am EST, 6am EST, and 10am EST, while USA is on DST.

Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry that I have been away so long, and I'm sorry that I couldn't let you know why. I had a bleed on my brain at the beginning of June. I feel quite a lot better now, but still can't use the PC for more than a couple of minutes without feeling sick and getting a blinding headache. It may be some while before I'm back fully fit... but I WILL be back!

Tony: sorry for the transcripts, I'm afraid I'll have to miss my turn again, but as soon as I feel well enough I shall happily return to my duties.

I won't be around to answer any PM's or anything for a while. I know you will understand because you're the kindest, most thoughtful and wonderful group of people across the world. It's a true global community and I feel proud to 'know' you!

I've got to go now, this is about my limit at screen time at the moment!

Take care, I will be back, and I will be dancing with 'Price' again, just as soon as I can, !

Rebecca,x.
May all your pips grow into great big fruitful trees

People, has anyone used Oanda's open orders summary in their analysis?

Some interesting moments associated with 4H MACD rules (lower image):
* look at "spikes" of orders concentration at round numbers (like 1.5300, 1.5400, 1.5600 etc);
* at ratio of sell and buy orders above and below current price - for EURUSD at the moment, if to believe the chart, there are more SELL orders up to 1.56, though a noticeable spike of BUY orders at about >1.5560 (unfortunately the chart is not very detailed);
* but who knows? if ~90% are usually wrong, then, maybe, it should be interpreted vice-versa (?);
* don't know if this chart is created by quantity of orders or by their volume (if just quantity then it won't be as informative).

Will watch this tool, will post the results later if I get any interesting.

Edit: added some analysis for current situation on EURUSD using orders info (upper image).
