NFP day... to trade.... OR... not to trade? Last night movement seems like NFP itself... so volatile!!! Let see how volatile the market can be tonight during the NFP. Staying on the side line.

FIBER H4 Doji CS at the Weekly Pivot. Took the chance of Weekly Pivot holding Strong. Good R&R Ratio... SHORTED already with SL above the Weekly Pivot.

What's your target tp? Or left open? Are you seeing this as a small retracement before another bull run or is fiber still in the general down trend? It has been a weird week. First Bernanke talked fiber down, then Trichet drag it up.

50% Retracement which is exactly at 1.9600, which happened to be last Strong SUPPORT area. Now it has become Strong RESISTANCE. Therefore, SBR area.

Took my SELL FROM BOUNCE with SL above the SBR area.

Weird week indeed. Started good... but loosing streak last night. When Politic and Economic mixed up = Chaos. Whose ball bigger? Trichet or Bernanke?

Perhaps it's a Campaign to make the Euro as the replacement for the Greenback for the world National Reserve currency.

TP on Price Action. Hopefully I can close the trade before NFP... or... SL hit early. My PLAN is... just in case Cable and Fiber dropping more than 30pips from my Short Entry price... and NFP just a few minutes away... I will just place the SL at BE.

So far... all good data came out from US. Perhaps NFP also good tonight. ADP reported good data... but can't really rely on ADP accuracy.

For GEPPY... if NFP is good... it will become DEAD CAT ALIVE. if NFP is bad... it will become DEAD CAT BOUNCE.

Morning guys....Didn't trade at all last night....Don't wanna take the risk.......Went long on geppy already with tight stop loss after it breached weekly pivot....Still look good so far....

What Trichet said didn't make much sense. His goal is supposed to be controlling inflation. By saying that they might raise interest rate, he pushed up fiber by 1.5% but pushed up oil by more than twice that much. What is the cause of inflation? High oil prices -> High commodity prices -> High food prices, which can eventually lead to social unrest. Don't know if he might have some hidden agenda.

All of these Conspiracy Theory or Hidden Agenda between US, Euro and OPEC... make this year trade so tough!!! Big Boys game. We just watch and follow.

this is the problem with SL. your analysis may be right and your trigger may be right but volatility will alway find ways to make you lose. you may want to further reconsider the actual use of SL.

From my exp. SL based on chart compound formations fails almost all the time.

I have found it most tricky to set stop loss. If you go back to what happened last night to fiber before it took off. It went way down below 1.54, presumably to hunt to stop losses, before it took off on its 200 pip hike. So many had the direction right but got stopped out before the ride.

I tend to agree with your observations. One of the better ways to deal with this is to get excellent entry points so a strong resistance is a bit like your stop. If it breaks through your STOP is above it. Also trade in units of 100K so you reduce your risk amount or trade plan by trading only a certain part of your capital.

If further explanation is needed I will be glad to explain in better detail.
