Backtesting data

Why is there 9 nine years of 5 min data in the history center but when I backtest, it only goes back a couple weeks? The date range is set correctly and max bars in history is maxed out. How can I access this data for backtesting?

Is it really that tough of a question?

It is for me. I've been having this sort of problem on backtest since day 1.

Sometimes it only goes back a month. Sometimes it goes back a year like I asked, but trading stops in Feb 2008. I like smjones' idea, "backtest is a waste of time. Only forward test means anything." That might open up a whole new world for me on the subject of EA's.
