MB Trading Futures - Introduction

I think most traders on this forum have a limited account size (under $10k) which prevents them from using many ECN brokers. Therefore, MBT attracts a lot of attention and praise because its better then the MT4 brokers and other bucket shops that most of us are forced to use.

If you have a small account size (under $10k) i would prefer oanda although I don't like marketmakers.

Is MBTrading going to be lowering their fees?

I did not post to complain and if you want to get into it MBTrading is actually behind the on-line FOREX trading technology curve.

So when are the spikes on the remote trader charts for the gbp/jpy daily and weeklies going to be removed. It has been since around the end of last week that this occured when also the account funds went to zero showing no money in my account.

Is this just occuring in my account?

will mb ever offer historical data? lol....

I am asking those traders that use this broker. What do you do about charting?

personally i use gain data feed for backfills. Since i trade intraday i dun need much data. Daily bars i use free mt4 charts. anyway no point doing carry trades with mb, their rollover sucks.

Charting i use ninjatrader by connecting em to my navigator.

abt comms

i think mb and efx should sit together and revise the comms plan. I can sometimes see that the comms would take up 20%-30% of my pfts and thats alot.

You can use esignal for charts/data (works together with ninja too), but it will cost you $150+ per month, thats a bit expensive just for charts.

MB says they are working on backfill data of their own and it should be ready 'soon', but then again they are saying this since years.

Can you chart futures data live using MB feed and NINJA?

Yes, you just have to select which asset class you'll be trading and the correct feed for it.

After read all the 1900 posts, I think EFX group is a fair broker.

Suppose I have trade 10K units EUR/USD, let’s talk about the cost when I flat all my position:

10K units EUR/USD, 1 point is just about $1

Spread: 1 point ( I don’t trade news, no market orders)
Commission: 10,000 x 1.50000 x $0.00005 = $0.75 So the round trip commission is 1.5 point
About the rollover fee, I can not find the overnight interest rate on MB Trading website so here I just make my wild guess
(10,000*1.500) * [( -2 / 100) / 365] = $0.82 that means I pay (or get depending I long or short) interest about 1 point EVERY DAY

So the overall trading cost may be 1 + 1.5 = 2.5 point and 1 point/Day for long term trade.
I think I can accept that as long as I did not get manipulated by my broker.
Did I miss something? Correct me if I am wrong. I’d like to open a live account with EFX.

AS far as I know you don't. You have to own a live MBT account and buy a Ninjatrader
license.

you can also have demo licence of Ninjatrader and use it with the demo account of MBT.

Ninja is free for charting, data feeds and analytics. but its ordering, DOM and ATMs are not. U need to get data from gaincapital in order for you to see historical prices. You can use ur live mbt acc and it feeds data directly to ninjatrader simulation lincense, just that u dun get to trade off the charts. Ninja will load a tabbed form of mbt navigator screen for you to trade on instead.

Will mbt(efx) please start supplying some data? at least 24hrs (i would prefer 72hrs) worth of tick data? I don't like gain's tick data. Justin are you guys looking into this?

Thats the point! They already have a quote server. They can save those ticks and backfill it for us so that we could use it for analytics. I have to run my comp 24/7 so that i would not lose out data.

Whats worse, some cust are taking matters into their own hands, (means the gave up) they went through the length of creatiing their own servers to capture data 24/7. I think efx/mbt should approach em and do a tie up. lol.

IB could give 5days worth of tick data, why cant we have that?

Actually it's 30 days, you just can only download them in 5 day chunks.

Hello everyone,

I'm in the process of evaluating MBT Navigator for the purpose of live trading and I would like to know:

1. Is there a resource detailing every type of order?
2. What is the minimum lot size? 1000 units meaning 0.1 of a standard mini-lot?
3. Is anyone using EFX Remote Trader and how it compares with MBT Navigator? Cause I see it is not available for demo only for live.
