Sydney, April 24: Fed watcher Greg Ip writing in today"s Wall Street Journal states that the Fed is likely to cut by 25 BPS when they meet next week, but then may be ready to take a breather. Ip also says that the Fed will also put the option of standing pat on the table due to inflation concerns. Ip goes on to say: "If it does cut rates, the Fed could signal in the statement accompanying the decision an inclination to pause and assess the impact of seven interest rates in eight months."
The strong bounce in the USD in the past 24 hours has a lot to do with the market anticipating the end of the Fed easing cycle. The impact of such an event would have greater impact if the market perceives that the ECB will stay on hold despite recent comments that have been decidedly hawkish. -- [email protected]

Sydney, April 24: The EUR/USD has settled around the 1.5850 level, but is still below yesterday"s 1.5860 low after stops below that level and 1.5840 were triggered earlier. The 1.5834 low lines up with Tuesday"s low and the subsequent bounce suggests that it is decent support for the immediate-term at least.
The market is now pricing in the end of the Fed easing cycle and this is giving the USD broad support. If the German IFO later today and subsequent EZ data comes in on the weak side of expectations it will dampen any notion that the ECB will tighten rates anytime soon and possibly lead to a decent correction lower for the EUR/USD after it hit a popular objective around 1.6000. The EUR/USD trades 1.5847/52. [email protected]

This is what I see, eur/usd is consolidating therefore the strategy here would be buy on dips, and I see a target of 1.63, simply because ECB mandate is rates on hold and FED will cut rates and the Corporate America is still in trouble and the next NFP will also be a negative. As for usd/jpy I expect it to move to below 101 as there will be another round of equity selling but the case for eur/yen is different because of the euro strength and therefore a target of 165-16650 is probable. RBA will have another 25bp hike and that may send the aud/usd to parity as well as the aud/cad to parity but my near term target for aud/usd is 0.9650/97 and USD/cad will be 1.0350/04. As for gbp/usd due to the MPC minutes we can see it weakening perhaps to the 1.95 area if 1.9650 which is the ichimoku base gives way.

IF Cable managed to break downside ... break today's LOW... the next DOWN target is gonna be the PURPLE Support Line. That is the top of H4 Downtrend CHANNEL lines. Expecting a very heavy fight over there between BULL and Bear. IF BEAR win... that's means CABLE come back down INSIDE the downtrend Channel. If BULL wins... UP we go making a new CHANNEL.

Seeing a Shooting Star on H1 chart that is exactly at at 20wma Yellow Moving Average. I took some premature SHORT. SL gonna be a few pips above the daily Pivot.

Oppss... my bad It was more to a DOJI than a Shooting Star CS. Anyway... 2nd CS just finished forming and it's Bearish CS... confirming the Doji. High probability the next CS gonna be Bearish as well...

Hmmm... a bit aggressive.. bias is on the downside but will wait for breakout.

EXPERIENCES... trial and error. Just keep on experimenting with your Graph... you'll see the clear pictures on how to Draw Triangle... Channel... Support&Resistance lines. Practice makes Perfect.

p/s: I just watched people making lines on their graph... I do the same on mine. Time past by... I can make my own lines now. no more depending on people.
