FYI:
FXCM MarketShot were used to create these Historic Charts.
These Historic Charts are 1M candles, 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the news (unless otherwise specified).
The Cursors on the Charts are centered on the news for easy identification of the price action.

I use GBPUSD charts for USD and GBP news, NZDUSD charts for NZD news, AUDUSD charts for AUD news and EURCAD charts for CAD news. However, I was informed that some CAD charts were in USDCAD; I will change those charts to avoid conflict with USD news.

Apparently, I dont have all news on the Historic Chart list. I dont trade all news and some are worth a second look. Most of you have more experience on particular news that I have long ignored.

This thread is intended to fetch your inputs.

Please post your favorite Economic News worth trading that is not listed in the Historic Chart list. Include which Best Currency Pair to trade for it and if possible your strategy for trading the news (Straddle, Fade, Wait for Retrace).

These news should:
1. be a consistent mover; a one time quirk is not worth trading.
2. be periodically and scheduled. We cannot trade news that happens "anytime soon" or "sometime next week" or "imminently within the next hour".

What about these?

AUD employment change - This is the one we had out today that produced a 40 pips rise and could probably be the only one worth trading from Australia.

Also NZD CPI and NZD Employment report - Both quarterly reports I believe.

I dont know whether these reports are good performers month to month or even quarterly for the NZD reports but it may be worth taking a look at past history.

@Pipstar,

I'll take another look at AUD Employment as well as NZD Employment. But NZD CPI? I already run a historic chart for this one and its not a mover. Unless off course you are targetting 3-5 pips of profit and if broker widens spread, you are a goner.

UK Industrial and Manufacturing Production Data seems to create volatility.

I profited a small $25 from it earlier. Perhaps anyone with extensive experience on this could shed light on its pass performance?

I have attached figures for the last year (source: News Trader Pro) A difference of 0.5% or over is worth a trade in my opinion.

Hi BK,

You could add CAD employment change, and UK GDP to the list, these seem to movers recently.

It may take a while as FF's calendar is totally screwed.

Can you add Aud Employment data, and Aus retail sales to the list of historic charts. Also, it would be interesting to see Interest rate (surprises) statements for all the majors too.

burger did you see that we got this fixed? also, that detail view error you were getting, that should be fixed too. let me know....

btw, this thread is a amazing, great work man. i hadnt seen this in a while, love the master list links in first post.

are the events in the first post of this thread the complete list of historic charts that you have made? let me know if so, then i will take a complete look and see if i can find any that should be added. this is a really good idea, now have this thread on my subscription list

1. The viewing error is now fixed for Firefox browser the day it was reported!

2. We can now go back to past months. Nice job!

3. The master list isnt complete; some of the historic charts are not included as some charts proved little mover.. I am still contemplating on adding them in the list. I do have some news earmarked for addition though

what if we do this.... in the first post, add all the releases you plan to add as of now. they will not yet be links, but we will know what is on the radar because the event is on the list. once i can see the complete list you have i can spend some time finding out what you might be missing, and also help you with priority. how does this sound to you?

burger i added the "of Economic Releases" to the title of this thread. i think that will get more exposure for your system here. i know i had ignored this thread many times thinking it was about plain old historic charts. now it has some pizzaz

but feel free to change it back if you disagree LOL

This has been an absolute essential in my choosing which news reports to trade.

I do NOT trade them all, and I use the historic charts to tell me important tendencies related to each report.

I think if you trade each report, just to trade, you will lose more often than not. But if you do your research, and trade only the proven movers and then only after you have a developed strategy for the report, you can be quite succesfull.

BK, thanks for all of your hard work. I am working on a spreadsheet that gives me the information that I want for a trade, when I finish it, I will share one with the group pre-trade.
