Amazing - my wife has her first job offer after 5 months unemployed - its in a hick town in washington state just over the border from oregon to the east of the cascade mountains... we were just discussing it. There are 6 activate volcanoes but the rainfall is 8 inches per year with blue skies 300 days and no month with an average high under 32 degrees. It has more atheists than any other state in the U.S. which is wonderful after these hordes of rabid god nuts here

I am voting YES !

That sums the discussion up really - you pays your money and you takes your choice - I am nearing my 'three score years and ten' so I am going to be dismantled pretty soon anyway and big waves/earthquakes and religious wars have a 0.0001% change of killing me whereas just living a few more years carries the remaining percentage up to 100%

Conclusion - enjoy yourself, it's later than you think

The Pacific N.W is one of the most beautiful places you can be. Volcanoes, small hick towns, hippys and all. I really love to travel around up there. I would leave Florida and the bible belt as well for Wash. state

A few years back I drove from San Francisco up to Humboldt State for a graduation. Awesome, awesome drive. One of the most beautiful ever.

Humboldt or Humboldt county is in California and produces some of the best grass in the world. so good that people like Cypress Hill, Dr. Dre, Snoop dog and countless hippy blue grass bands dedicate songs to that place. Even the local cops will warn the growers when the Fed comes to town. Such a great place. Most of the students at Humboldt U. can't remember what their major is.
