When backtesting on MT4 the simulator shows only bid prices.

Does the program automatically input the pip spread or should one code the spread into the EA?

for instance if I want to buy Eur/usd at 1.4000, does the MT4 simulator buy at the noted bid price, or at an ask price of say 1.4002?

in backtesting your Expert buys @ ASK and sells @ BID, for short vice versa. So that's how spreads are taken into account, I think.
