I want a discussion on the method of analyzing the markets using J-Charts. If you don't know what it is, please consult the links below:

There are reasons why I love this method

1. No volumes needed! PERFECT for forex

2. Perfect way to objectively determine Support and Resistance areas to trade price action.

3. Able to determine trends based on concentrated price activity

3. It is based on natural psychology of equilibrium (ranging) and chaos (trending) markets.

Now, I am looking into learning more about it from this particular guy who claims to be a hedge fund trader. I hope this is not spam and do not violate FF rules.

The only problem is the site looks cheap as hell. I mean if you are a hedge fund trader, why not spend a little money to make the site look a little professional without the marketing garbage. So I'm skeptical.

So I want to know if anybody else have experienced or is using J-chart, and maybe we can start a thread to discuss this method and learn.

Isn't j-chart based on market profile, which has never proven to work very well for for the FX market.

No, that's the first reaction I had. It's similar in visual to market profile, but it's different makeup.

Hilmy, I didn't think people here knew what the flying fuck J-Chart is! I've been using it and I found it so much better at marking S/R points.

I got an infraction for speaking about the j-charts once... as if I were advertising the j-charts.. lol...

I have this metatrader indicator which is similar.
I don't know too much about market profile... always interesting to learn new things

yea that is unfair that you got an infraction for wanting to introduce j-chart.

As for market profile indicator, it doesn't compile. Plus it's not the same as J-chart. I have similar indicator

But again, it's not j-chart.

I guess nobody has a clue or not interested in j-chart. As much as we focus on price action and its value, I wish we could take j-chart to that level because it is based on price action.

For the first time, I'm able to determine S/R more objectively and have a clue to what price that most poeple focus on without knowing volumes

So come on guys!

I subscribed to j-chart roughly 2 years ago, at that time I was impatient and gave up on it too soon. I think it has alot of merit, I could only encourage you to study it. I can't give you any constructive feedback on what I learned because as I said I didn't give it enough time. And I woud concur with Judy that the s/r balance points in j-chart stand out as something to focus on. cheers,Fritz

Did you ever take any learning course when you started? more specifically from j-chart wiki?

i think it's good addition to people trading price action.

For ex. If i were to use pin bar set up from James16, it would be better to have a j-chart confirmation that it bounced off BP, then I know it's a good pinbar! Plus I could use increasing/decreasing BP to determine trends and just take pinbars in that direction of trend..so many uses!

Looks like you can try it for free if you open an account with FXCM. I wonder what the minimum deposit is...

edit: I cant get the j-chart wiki site to open. I did read the PDF on the other J-chart site though and it's looking great...can't say I totally understand it but I see the potential. Used in conjunction with other tools this could be great indeed.
