Hello Friends,
I'm enjoying my day by reading Sun Tzu's The Art of War (for improving my chess playing abilities... ) and here are some (to trading "related") interesting passages I'd like to share with you:
With this compare Col. Henderson:
"The rules of strategy are few and simple. They may be
learned in a week. They may be taught by familiar
illustrations or a dozen diagrams. But such knowledge will
no more teach a man to lead an army like Napoleon than a
knowledge of grammar will teach him to write like Gibbon."]
It's like learning about Jacko's method. You can learn it quickly, but only by practice will you fully understand it and eventually become a master of it.
29. Military tactics are like unto water; for water in its
natural course runs away from high places and
hastens downwards.
Like markets, always taking the line of least resistance.
30. So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to
strike at what is weak.
It's same to waiting for a good setup!!! Jacko always emphases this!
31. Water shapes its course according to the nature of
the ground over which it flows; the soldier works out
his victory in relation to the foe whom he is facing.
Follow the trend!
32. Therefore, just as water retains no constant shape,
so in warfare there are no constant conditions.
Again, just like markets. You have to adapt to different situations and trade accordingly - sometimes more aggressively, and sometimes less aggressively.
Anyway, just a few nice thoughts to ponder upon. A bit philosophical, I know, but it's still cool. Happy Easter to everyone!
