0.66 Lag will indicate short when it passes the 0.75 level going down.
0.66 Lag will indicate long when it passes the 0.15 level going up.

Sonic,

From the chart you presented it is clear the lag are not flat. The wording may say flat.

Please remember thta for a trade to be triggered a number of factors have to be tested and not just the lags.

That worry me. Whole day I have been trying out the EA using 2 PCs on Difference pairs Diff time...but no trade at all....

Can u post the ver of EA u r using successfully??

Normally you will get a yellow alert before the signal is confirmed and a red alert when all criteria are met. One big difference is this EA does not wait for the end of a bar so even after a red alert its possible to find the signal not confirmed at the end of the bar. So it's up to you whether you want to wait for the end of bar or go with what might be only a transient signal.
In response to FX Focus you wanted an automated EA as you mentioned "I don't like watching the screen for hours on end waiting for a signal." 10th January 2007.

What we are trying to acheive is a fully automated trading system that will trade without us being directly involved.

This is being achieved by taking the Wickers system and making slight adjustments that will help create this system.

I am sure that you would not out your money in to an automated system that lost money!!!!

This system will trade constantly and most imprtnantly when you are probably as sleep.

My opinion you need to make it as water tight as possible for this end.

If that means adding one more indicator to be safe I am 100% behind it.

Do not get me wrong the the Wicker system is the best on forex factory but to be atuomated it needs adapting as this was purely a manual system before.

Also by the contribution of Skycraper, Tadinda, Soncideejay, WilteredFire etc this thread is now again top of the forex facotry list.

Hopefully we can get others to come and give their experience.

I am running the same EA as was being run yesterday. Except that this EA is now being filtered by the ADX. ACarwright is running the one without the ADX filter which wold make it the same on as I ran yesterday.

Do not worry. I am running mine since evening yesterday....on 12 pairs and I still have not gotten a signal.

Be patient. Trades will come.

That original Wicker Rules state that the system works best (if not only) during the European (UK) and the US markets. Furthermore today some markets are closed and also it is Good Friday (a very important Catholic day) so liquidity must be quite low.

Do not give up my man...persistence, sharing ideas and solutions and managing our best resources will get us there eventually.

Btw, DO u have world mkts sessions timing indicators....??
I only have the one with color representation!! I'd prefer the one with color as well as words indication!!

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression in the post you quoted but my modified EA is intended only to warn when a possible signal is aproaching. Its purpose is to allow one to avoid watching the screen for hours on end but beyond that all trading decisions are taken by the trader.

It's my opinion that the holy grail of a profitable fully automated system is unacheivable and a fools errand.

What's needed is a combination of TheWickers's system and experience, which is why I like to read of others experience here, but recent posts appear to be discussing a modified system that I don't recognise.

Hi am sending you the one that I have.

The best one is teh one in which the inputs ask you how far away your broker data is away from GMT. Forgot which one it is.

If you do not want automation but want the alert all you have to do is switch the automation off. You will still get the alerts. Alternatively, you may leave automation on but ask for manual confirmation before each trade.

So you see your concerns have been addressed already and these options have already been programmed in. Thanks to pmurfin and now Skyscraper.

One suggestion if I may.

I can accept, and am sure all of us here will accept, constructive criticism to bring things forward. When blanket denounciations are made which are not fully researched, or even at least invstigated, it does not do justice to whoever is bringing them forward.

So please anybody who wants to criticise please do so. But do so after undertsanding and at least reading the baiscs. What you do not understand, you may ask. Before jumping the gun. And am certain one or another will answer your queries.

Any judgement will then be at least an informative.

Thank you for brining us up to date with what teh Wicker has said.

I repeat again.

We are not improving on the workings of it. We are trying to achieve the following:

1. Automation based on the rules of the Wicker.
2. Trying out filters which may help to substitute (or at least try) the experirnce and knowledge of the Wicker himself. Such experirnce we do not have and may not have unless wwe are willing to continue puring money in Brokers coffers.

At teh end of the day all this is optional. You either like it and use or not. IT is not mandatory by all means.

Finally there is another saying.

Sometimes teh wood is missed in between the trees.
