dont throw the towel in...i keep saying its working...as we can all see...only that it needs certain market conditions which we have right now....but looking back would suggest you take a look as the hours were not the import thing...in that period there was less movement...less uni directional...and more into and out of the range so would suggest it wouldnt have worked whatever hours you chose....ON CURRENT PARAMETERS....perhaps smaller targets etc etc in ths periods

I have been following this thread for months and I can not tell what rules are being followed lately... Most of the original posters are gone and for what I can tell most of the people posting now have not even read the entire thread. I would suggest that if you are trading this manually that you use some discretion at times and if you are trading the EA that you go back to posts by Saaedb and the rest of the original posting for guidance. I still think it is a good idea to stick around and pick up a few good pointers here and there.

somebodies obvoiusly loosing with this system
why not try another system, then maybe you can post on their forum stating how bad the backtesting is
you`ll get there in the end my friend

oh my friend!!!perhaps you only look the monthly timeframe and says that.You are lazy because you didn t backtest this system day per day.I don t believe in what you said.I onlu believe in you if you show me result per result.

please re read all of my posts....i have repeatedly stated i am a follower and a user and that its working !
I am simply pointing out to users that we need to be careful long term as it has had very bad periods...which you would see if you went and looked.

ok i give up...was only trying to help-...if you dont want to spend 1hr of your time looking back a while and see that this is not the holy grail and that it does have good and bad periods...which will help you notice and avoid a bad cycle in the future then you deserve what you get
there are non so blind as those that refuse to see....just look ! and you will see whats ive been saying...its not hard !
and in the meantime lets hope it keeps worked for a good long time

Mt first rule in determining the valitity of any "system" is to go back and "manually" look at its results at least 2 years. This "system" did not perform well during 2006 because of the lower volitility.

With this being said, I was aware of this when I decided to trade it and personally took measures to prevent a series of loss's should those market movements return. My changes, as you would expect, do not follow the original "system" rules so they will not be entered at this time into this dicussion.

Keep in mind (everyone) that this "system" is based on nothing more than "the law of averages" and those averages have increased in recent times due to the changes in the GBP/JPY pair. FZS is correct in his statement and it would serve all involved well to keep an eye on the ADR associated with this pair.

I have a suggestion. This system surely leans on volitility, and this pair is also known for this also. Does someone have the backtesting for the last 3 years? If someone have it already i wont need to do it myself =) I wanna check the correlation between the amplitude of the days and the profit per day. I guess there is gonna be some wild correlation (if there wasnt then we would be oh so glad). If there is correlation we can measure and create some kind of indicator based on simple regression analysis (i know, i'm lazy!) or maybe AR methods (im not willing to do this) Also i'm not trading the orginal system, i trade three lots with respectives SL/TP (in pips) 50/100, 50/50 and 50/25.

There are backtests in this thread. All you have to do is look.
