...this sort of targeting never ceases to amaze me. Yesterday's T1 now hit and also came within 1 pip of Monday's T1...now need to get a few more robust entry, initial stoploss and money management rules in place.

Well Thanks Jared for starting this thread.I have a question for chow clown although I may be stupid in asking it what made you to pull a fibo from days high 1.9501 to 1.9434 as the candle was still progressing.Can't we pull the fib across the first swing of the day i.e high of 1.9501 to 1.9460 to check the possibility of reversal and validity of intra day fibs.

Now that we have some direction here I pulled the swing fib. It bounced off the short fib already and is heading down. I am short currently and at +5 so far. I am being extra cautious though because news is due in an hour.

Hi, probably nothing stopping you at all - my preference though is to use the full range of the day (thus far) once a retracement appears to be building.

This was the chart that I had earlier - a Sell at the 50% level - also the M2 level - the blue line at 9465.

Since it hit my T1 its been in a norrow range waiting for the US data

Im out of Cable now the Target from Monday has been met and the last Swing targets are met, looking for it to set up again for the next entry.

Which other pairs do you keep an eye on, BO? I seem to remember you don't use the same approach on GBP/JPY?

Thats what I'm talking about, beautiful setup! To bad I didn't see it earlier. I was too focused on seeing if is was a true breakout from the range or not.

I watch or chart Cable, USd/Yen,GBP/Yen,Euro and Euro/Yen. trading mostly Cable, Usd/Yen and the Geppy when both Majors signal the same direction.

Nothing wrong with that, just dont sweat it if you miss one being cautious it will always come around again....your thread is going to become very popular very quickly.

To save loads of discussion about the different broker's prices and spreads I just quote the range that the move made and let everyone work out how much they got - and like you, I'll often take a profit on part of my entry before the target level is hit - safe pips in my bank are best for me!

T2 hit after the news. Got 33 from that one. Waiting for a retrace for the next setup. 15 minute chart illustrates the news price action.

...so cable has retraced from today's lows and has tested the current intraday short fib...i'll be on the sidelines now until the FOMC dust settles, maybe there will be an opportunity to get back in the flow afterwards or Frankfurt/London open tomorrow.

Bo, with the other pairs you chart, have you found any notable differences when walking the intraday fib? Looking at EUR/USD for instance, i get the impression an interday fib (over 2 days) would be better because swings are more drawn out than say GBP/USD for example, where intraday swings are more distinct?....or do you use the same rationale across pairs and tend to just use the previous day's range?

Good move dont jump on Cable short just yet the price action to me is saying its not done retracing yet, im on the sidelines as well for now.
the majors are all pretty much the same, the situation with the euro is the wide range its been running in since it made its overall high..its just making stair step type moves as in operates in this range, the best thing to do in the euro is play this range, zoom the euro out on the daily and you can see the ranging on the Daily chart since the high back in November.
But I use the type strategy with all the pairs I follow.

When in doubt go up a timeframe, sometimes a bigger picture can help show the lower timeframes next moves better
