As far as I know you have to compile the .mq4 files. The .ex4 files will simply require a restart of MetaTrader as stated above.

Double click on the .mql files and it should open in MetaEditor. Click on the compile button on the menu bar. Do this for each .mq4 file. Restart Metatrader and the indicator should be in your custom indicator area.

Just place the .mq4 or .ex4 files in MT4/experts/indicators folder and restart MT4. Thats all. Same procedure whether it is called .mq4 or .ex4 (Simple).

Do not use MetaEditor unless you are a programmer and want to change the code (and the code is available).

Waka: Please do not confuse people. MT4 is smart enough to do the compilation, when restarting.

i never had to compile anything .. all i do is just put it in the indicator folder and restart metatrader and good to go just like chandra said

I have been following this thread for awhile and trading at the same time. I am a long time trader that used only the stoch and macd. I was very happy to find the lag as it completed my indicators. Thank you Imran. I am up to page 218 now so I still have a ways to go to completley read the thread.
I have noticed the referral to the lag on page one as being the current setting. I downloaded it and have been using it quite successfully. However it is set at .55 and .7. Has there been a change to .6 and .8 without an update of page one?

yes, that will do it. when you restart mt4, it automaticaly compiles.

re the lag gammas: older settings have been updated to .6 and .8, but some people still like to use the older settings.

there is not much difference. but note the traditional macd setting has been optimized to 12/20/9 from the standard 12/26/9 default.

soryy for asking this but where can i find more info regarding the pooled a/c especially like the minimum amount and fee ?

hi there just a couple of things in your original instructions you say not to go long unless price is above pivot.and in your examples quite a few of the trades are below maybe you can explain,also i think this question is for chandra i downloaded your alerts,but when a signal is given the indicators are not saying the same maybe you can explain that,one last question on 15 minute time frame how long do you sit on the trade,i assume the system works on all currencies except maybe the exotics,anyway great stuff many thanks

My intention was to help not confuse and was in response to Gnat's question, if they had to be compiled. I posted my comments in case they had to be compiled, so that Alanaz did not have to wait till morning to view the indicators, as he would have had to wait for another response to another question.

Now I've learnt something too, as I always compiled a .mq4 file.

Are you at work? If so, I suggest you contact your IT departments and ask for the http proxy IP address & port. The login name and password will usually be your windows/network login.

Just thought of something. If you are running MT4, it would also normally require proxy settings behind a proxy server. You might have the information in MT4 under tools > options > server > proxy button. Just a thought.

thanks waka but no i am not at work at home and yes i am using MT4 but prxy server is not enabled.

Hi guys,
I have gotten tired of spending many hours looking at the screen and flipping through the charts one by one to try and identify the entries.
Many times I take a break because it is so monotonous and I find that some times I miss good entries because I was not looking at the charts at the moment.

I don't want to miss good trades.

Is there a way to automate this so that I receive either an email alert or an audio alert that tells me when an is made and for which pair.

Please tell me what can be done or which indicators you all use or suggest.

I am glad that the thread has found some life once again.
I was so worried when it seemed like it was dying, because I could not figure it out. It is such a good method and easy to understand and most of all it works. SO I thought that people would be so excited about it.
I am glad that the activity has increased and I know now that since Imran is back the sky is the limit.

I really believe that this is the key to the Pip Mint and the holy grail. No it doesn't catch every move (which system does?) but it does catch a few and it is consistent and profitable.

You can bank on it. SO now I don't feel afraid of risking higher amount on trades because of the faith I have in this method.

P.S.
I think I am going to post my trades here from time to time along with the reasons I entered the trade and the results so we can all learn and benefit. This way I can hear your ideas on how I can improve my trading
