Time observation
1 hour timeframe
1st 15 min of every hour quite often you'll see a retracement or a slight pullback.
From the 15 min mark to the 30 min mark, you get quite a bit of movement which dictates where price is headed for the rest of the hour (doesn't always work this way but quite often does).
From the 30 min mark to the 45 min mark, quite often there is a slight retracement again.
When we get to the 45 min mark to the end of the hour, quite often you'll get the most movement, especially 10 minutes before the end of the hour.
Notice the above observation is broken up into quarters. Now apply that to the 4 hour timeframe. The first hour usually sees a retracement of some sort first. The 2nd hour may see some movement but what I've noticed is that most of the movement occurs in the last 2 hours of the 4 hour period.
Other things I have discovered
I have noticed in the past there are certain times where price tends to spike... not sure why but I remember observing it a while back.
4:00am - 5:00am: Price sometimes spikes between these hours
7:00am - 8:00am: Price tends to move very aggressively before NY open
11:00am - 12:00am: Sometimes not always but I've seen a big retracement happen during this time.
If anyone has other time observations they'd like to share, please comment.
