DislikedDid take a quick look at posts following this question, may have missed it, but seems there was no reply to it. Apologies if I did miss it however.
I assume this question was asked as the intent is to run the chart in full screen mode i.e. by pressing F11, and the tester window is not showing. All you have to do is press the pause key on your keyboard.Ignored
DislikedCan someone please help me with vHands...Can you give me the steps to do this..

DislikedBut can I change the subject a little and revisit the issues raised by Blueruby himself, sm31 and Kenmania in earlier posts (47, 59 etc) about their experience of using vHT. I think my experience is same as theirs. I´d really like to know if this is a general experience?
This only relates to higher TF systems 1h -4h - 1D.. ... But..as an example, I found that I took a random month of data from an obscure pair , traded it blind with vHT, I got results way above my current actual trading ROI...lower DD, much better Sharpe..and can I honestly say - without "cheating". I´ve even involved a colleague in these experiments, to setup a pair and tapeover the top left and timeline strip on the screen so I dont know the pair or month. Same result. ... and no its not simply sticking to system rules...
The professional industry have been using similar systems for training for years. but this is my first exposure to the phenomenon.
I´d like to know who else has experienced this and if so, what thoughts they might have on converting their vHT performance into a better live ROI.Ignored
DislikedOne thing we could do then is when we are live trading, run a Vhands sim up to the current time and evaluate your thinking. It will get you into the flow of what has happened recently with the benefit of it being compressed, which I agree may help.
On another note I am finding it annoying never knowing what time it is in Vhands, which is a problem if you want to trade only during London hours or something, for example. It takes forever for that little pop up when placing the cursor on a candle to show up...Is there any indicator out there that tells you the time of the current candle, I would imagine something like those price indicators that display price in big numbers at the top of the screen?Ignored
Dislikedand one extra thing for your list Blueruby ..for me, it makes price action much easier to see and "feel". Watch price come up to a S/R line...bounces once, twice; falls back, retraces, puts in a little floor, gathers strength and "runs the light" - accelerating as it breaks through.. Or not..LoL!!
Sure, its all drawn there on the lower TF charts but you can "feel" it with time compression.anyone else experience that?Ignored

Nice practical suggestion 24HourTrader. I´ve recently started doing just that and yes..and I´m seeing results already!
as to your query, most time/session indicators use system time, which is no good in a simulator.
DislikedGreat post Blueruby
You covered most of the bases here...
The time compression factor I´ve experienced with vHT shows up all the pressures you´ve listed, and puts my individual weaknesses in these areas into sharp perspective. and thats my small 2c. I think most of us have been looking at vHT as a "system testing & refining tool" but seems to me its equal value is as a "Trader testing" tool. When you can clearly identify and quantify a problem you are half way to a solution.

Go to http://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=38467. .. download the Breakout_Eagle indy.. latest version.. and put it on your vHT template. It creates two boxes. One for establishing daily B/O range and second for trade duration. adjust the times to the session you want to highlight on the chart, and youll get a clear session box. Because it works in vHT..apart from solving your immediate problem, you´ll find it a good tool for vHT testing almost any B/O strategy...
