Hi Matt,

Welcome back! No you don't need the Imran indicator. He just combines the original 2 on one indicator pane and applies some smoothing. So no need to use a new indicator. I am anxious to see the tests on this. It was really tricky to program and will probably need some optimization to get the best signals.

Hallo Rick!

OK, thanks for the untangling on this issue! So my template is up to date and I will start up the platform now to be ready on time.

Best Wishes!

hi,

finally got mine up (sntest8) and running and realized that I do not have the proper laguerre indicator. The indicator is asking for Laguerre.ex4 but all of the Lag indicators I've found have a different name (Laguerre_XXXX).

Since Lag is my exit, I figured that I should have my exit indicator before I place an order...so testing is temporarily on hold.

Could someone that has a Lag indicator that is named "Laguerre", please post.

I'll continue to look deeper into this thread to see if I can locate. I already the lightpatch/yahoo site and there wasn't one there.

Would it make sense for all testers to have the same indicators so that there isn't variation among the different versions?

EDIT: oops, silly me, it was in the zip of the first post. can't get any easier.

thanks,
dee

Thanks wolfeman!

yes, acs is what irman uses in his thread but the EA rick has coded up seems to be calling up the CustomIndicator("Laguerre"). If you don't have the exact same indicator (down to the spelling), then the EA will throw an error message.

Hi Testers,

Very interesting first few hours. The GBPUSD executed for many of us as a long and then prompltly reversed direction. That's trading Some of the indicators reacted well and got us out early, while other got us out later. But look at the QQE_VOL test! It avoided the long and caught the reversal!

This is what we need to see. First, are there bugas in the indicators. Then, which indicators are performing best. We really don't care as much about profitability since we are really restricting the EA. We need to see correctness according to the rules. When we add the indis back to gether, things get fun again.

I am measuring equity swings for the future MM/RM enhancements and this is good data.

Hi PipSqueaker,

That's great. What settings are you using? One of the asessments we will make by running the indi's separately is which seem most effective. Then we will come up with promising collections. These will also, in all likelihood, be different for different TF's. It would be great to start collecting successful setups in advance.

Update:

These first few hours are going really well. Many of the indicators did a good job of filtering out a troublesome GBPUSD. Market open is always risky as there is not much volatility, so indicators do not behave as well as they do when volatility increases. The same is true of the dead zone. I usually wait until the London open to begin trading on Monday and our data may lead me to add a market open input so that traders can specify a time to accept new trades after market open.

It is interesting to see that Vol took the opposite trade after the down spike. Also notice that QQE alone is not a great exit indi (so far). It definitely likes help . My own observations are that QQE alternate TF (Matt's idea) using the trade with long term trend input improves QQE substantially. Also, QQE is much better by itself for the H4 and Daily TF's (which I often trade) while other indi's get better for shorter TF's.

Also, note how CCI got us out of trouble really effectively.

Lots of good data, so far.

I have it set to default with QQE and DMI on entry and QQE on exit. I have found the DMI to be good at avoiding false signal.

One more thing. Recently, I have been watching QQE as it matches with price channel deviation which shows when price reverts too far from the mean. QQE does a good job of reacting to this, but when volatilty is low (dead zone, market open) indicators will generate false signals. In analyzing price during the dead zone and last night, it was obvious that a simple check of price against the mean would have filtered out many false signals at low volatility. Some of our indicator tests did exactly that! That's a good sign that we have some indicators that can handle low volatilty situations. Very promising.

Is everyone using the SuperNova stats indicator (use the 1.1) I posted? It will show us which indicators protected us from low volatility false signals.

It's also obvious from early testing how much money management will get us. The trailng PSAr stop, scale in/out, etc. would have loxked in some profit for vol and would have reduced our exposure for some of the indi's that took the low volatility signals. That all comes in week 3, so we have to suffer this data gathering phase. Next week when we let the tests lose on multiple TF's some of the indi's will hit their stride. In week 3 we turn on MM. Should make a huge difference.
