One of the strategies went in after the Boj statement. So it went long and was stopped out.

The other went in long when this crap started. I went crazy because it's against the monster downtrend in the stock market, but got lucky somewhat.

BE today keeps y'day profit, so I'm out of this mess, or I'll give y'day's back, I know it.

I guess u are rite. After a big move yesterday its normal if some retracement kick in. But fundamentally, things still looks ugly. So this "movement" might provide another "good price" for shorting again imvho.

Maybe this was the cause

Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) -- European finance ministers said a global stock-market slump and an economic slowdown in the U.S. threaten to slow growth in Europe more than forecast.

``The economic situation and financial markets are highly volatile and uncertain, a good deal more uncertain than usual,'' Luxembourg Finance Minister Jean-Claude Juncker said yesterday in Brussels after presiding over a meeting of counterparts from the euro region. ``If there is a real slowdown in the U.S., obviously that would be felt in the euro zone.''

Still, ``it would be a mistake to fall victim to excessive pessimism,'' Juncker told a press conference after the meeting. ``We shouldn't overreact to events on the stock exchange,'' he said.

Ok.. I think I can understand a bit about US slowdown are starting to affect Eurozone and for that reason GU and EU are bearish. And with loan money start to flow back to Japan, that also explain UJ's movement.

But if Citigroup going to file for bankruptcy (which is bad for US economic) thus soaring GU and EU, UJ is showing the opposited reaction. Instead of strenthening more against Dolar. It got weakened. So imvho this is not the case.

Or may be im just thinking too much now. Reading too much Greenspan. May be later I might start talking Fedspeak also. lol.

WOW!!! what a wild ride!! My reaction when I looked at the G/J chart was: OMG !! :surprised WTF just happened ??!!!!!

It seems this was the catalyst:

European shares recover briefly on rate cut talk
LONDON, Jan 22 (Reuters) - European shares swung wildly in
morning trade on Tuesday and traded 0.8 percent lower after
turning briefly positive on market talk of central bank interest
rate cuts.
At 0914 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European
shares was down 0.8 percent at 1,269.66 points, having fallen as
much as 4.4 percent earlier in the session and then risen almost
0.5 percent as the rate talk swirled.
"Theres's rumours about concerted rate cuts... they're
talking about the Fed, the ECB, the Bank of England and the SNB
all cutting rates," a trader said.
Traders in Paris cited market talk of a rate cut of between
75 to 100 basis points from the U.S. Federal Reserve.
