Yeah, once you say "I DO" the sandwich making and beer getting days are over. Enjoy it while you can and post the picture so you can remind yourself what it "used" to be like.

I'm wondering if Bernake has a "number" in mind to do something. Like 12K or less... There has to be a number.

After reading part of the book, Greenspan defends the thesis that the American economy is "resilient" enough to overcome their own problems. Just a few adjustments here and there.

I think Fed is putting this resilience to the test. Or he just doesn't know what to do. 50/50

I always thought to that book would be extremly boring, but it is actully very interesting. I give it two thumbs up

Yes

Specially because by the 60-100 pages, he tells the story about the recession he had to face in his early days at the Fed. Pretty much like what is going on right now, so we can not only understand the current situation better as imagine how they would be dealing with, thoughts, methods and all.

As usual, the EU became again jealous of the US and decided now to create their own version:

STRASBOURG, France (AP) _ European Union lawmakers
approved EU-wide standards Wednesday for lenders to provide
credit to consumers, making it easier for people to shop
around for loans across the 27-nation bloc.

European consumers owe more than €800 billion (US$1.18
trillion) or nearly one-tenth of EU gross domestic product
and this market is growing at 8 percent a year.

Forget about subprime, a new bubble is in the making !!!
