Nope.. it just mean market take longer time to make up their mind. :
But i dont see that the bull is over here. More like a retrace imho. 9620-30 ish would hold the key to the direction i think.

Well. It was a nice ride today. Just to end up where I got started. I'm glad that the market gave me the room not to lose.

But all in all, it's just the same old crap going on for the whole January. Just more volatile today.

LOL. I didn't jump in cable at 95s. I'm looking for the next 500-1,000 pips in cable and euro long term. for quicky 100s I have the GJ strategies

Just pulled the plug today because the market is acting in panic. You can no longer trust a ship that everybody is jumping off

GJ was bumpy today imo.. If GU and UJ start to trending again.. it would stay bumpy for some time.

Bears Roar On Bay Street Tuesday Morning; TSX Plunges 300 Points In Broad-based Sell-off - Canadian Commentary

1/15/2008 11:58:28 AM Fears that the US economy has plunged into recession roiled markets on both sides of the border once again on Tuesday. Canadian stocks have plummeted more than 300 points as of noon ET, with losses most pronounced in the influential energy and financial sectors.

The S&P/TSX Composite is down 316 points at 13,377.45, having raced lower at the open before falling steadily through late morning action. Gauges of all major sectors are in the red, including the Gold Index, which has pared some of this year's dramatic gains.

Energy stocks are down 3.1 percent, with giants Suncor (SU.TO) and Canadian Natural Resources (CNQ.TO) among the biggest losers in the oil patch.

Talisman Energy (TLM.TO) is down 5 percent after saying it expects 2008 output to rise as much as 8.5 percent.

Crude oil dropped on Tuesday in U.S. trading and reached its lowest level in 3 1/2 weeks as economic concerns have led to concerns about energy demand. Light sweet crude for February delivery moved to $91.96, down $2.24 on the session. Prices dipped as low as $91.42 in the mid-morning.

Although gold prices have stayed near record highs above $900 an ounce, weakness has emerged in the surging gold sector. The Gold Index, which had surged higher by almost 20 percent so far in 2008, has slipped 2 percent as of mid-day.

Concerns about personal spending in the face of a major economic slowdown have fueled a 2.3 percent decline in the Consumer Discretionary Index.

With banking behemoth Citigroup (C) reporting a bigger-than-expected drop in quarterly earnings before the bell, Canadian financial have come under pressure Tuesday morning.

The Financial Index is down 2.3 percent, at its lowest point in over a year.

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM) is down 2.6 percent after saying it intends to raise C$2.75 billion by private placement and public offering to strengthen its capital, after exposure to write-downs related to the U.S. residential real estate.

It's time for the market to separate the good companies from the screwups, no? IBM shown strength against recession, credit crisis and even benefited from the weak dollar.

Financials in the other hand, are posting writedowns after writedowns, kicking out CEOs and carrying they saucers all the way to Saudi Arabia to beg for a change

Hi all,

I hope you are doing well in this crazy market! It seems a lot in Forex today was just profit taking and carry unwinding and general risk aversion.
It was funny though to watch all this E/J shorting keeping the majors hostage in narrow ranges!

Thank you all for the nice remarks about my "Letterman" post yesterday

I work by the way for a major news and media organization, and I have immidiate access to Reuters and AP wires during the European session. If you are interested, I will post any major and relevant market moving news here, and you might even get to read them before they are reported on Bloomberg or CNBC

Now I have to drive back home through the rush hour mess!

Cesar,

True money will go to the stronger, better run companies with the earnings to show for it. But just like a rising tide lift all boats (well most of the time) so does a monsoon swamps all in its way (some more than others).

Right now IBM is down -0.55 but only to its early morning lows on average volume. We'll see if it holds.
