No, I continued using the M15 data. It would definitely be a good idea to run this on M1 data (for me it would be too time consuming). But please see discussion on p. 146, posts 2176-2180: the relative merits of different parameter settings can be evaluated using the higher TF data.

highest its go around 80 - 90..then straight down luckily i was in front of pc.. managed to closed "sell" +60
It's been a real wild ride for GBP/JPY as it's now retraced all the way back to the top of the blue line. Some 200 pips retrace. Talk about a big rebound.

Congratulations. I have the ea set to change the sl to breakeven at +50. If I happen to be around when this happens, I change it to be +5 so that I make something if the price retraces like it did today.

Ah well, that still leaves me +105 so far this week.

Can someone give me clear instructions to what ilnar is suggesting. Where do I put the Limit orders and under what conditions. Do we still use the Stop orders or not?
If someone can do this and send me a pm with the link to the post I'll work on building it into the EA
I've been running the EA since day one and I've not seen that error on my live or demo account. So its not very easy for me to be able to figure out the issue. But my guess is, the EA tries to read your history tab and fails to read it and opens the new orders. Make sure you have set your history tab to show all account history.
I'll see if there is anything I can do on my part to prevent this.

dont think i will trade 2day...the first 4 hrs candle down really big..and 2nd candle is look like goin to do the same thing like the first one...different H and L right now is like 200+...

If you are using a 5h method, then maybe you should start a 5h thread. Or hadn't you noticed the name of this thread? Please post 8h prices...not 5h. Trade how you want, just don't confuse the new people. This is not the jr2007 GBP/JPY 5 hour method.

Ok, first to answer a few questions.

One, I have no intentions of releasing the source code for the EA. Why? I have my reasons. I do appretiate the offers of help, and trust me I could use some help, but I'm not going to release the source code, sorry.

Second, People who have had issues with the EA opening up more trades then required, I can't say why its doing that. Its not done that with me yet. My suspicion is, it can't read from the history tab and doesn't know the # of trades for the day. I've put in some checks hopefully it will help.

Modifications for the EA

New params

EnterOnRetracement & RetraceAfterBreakOut:
When set to true, it will enter in the direction of the breakout after a retracement of "RetraceAfterBreakOut" pips.

Stop_LookingForTrades:
It will stop looking for new trades after this hour. This will not affect the current pending orders or open orders

Hours_CloseTradeAfterOpen:
If you want the trade to close by time use this param. If the time you're specifying is going to go into the next day or so make sure you set the "EndOfDayCandle" to greater then 24. Like this, the EA wont close the open orders at the end of the day.

Note: You could either use the above param to decide how the EA closes the trades from the previous days or you could use the Trailing function to trail that order.

Now, I think I've done this since before. If the order goes into the next day and the trade in profit, the EA will set the STOP LOSS to break even and open new orders from the current day, but if the order from the prevoius day is in a loss, the EA will not open new orders to keep the risk under control.

Let me know how this works out for you all. And keep me updated with any good settings

Could someone please update the word document with the EA documentation with these new params and post it on the forum for newbies etc

I wouldn't mind JR show his/her 5 hour winnings here, as long they would be properly labeled as such.

It would be hard to track modifications if they would make their own threads. Besides, improvements to nicotina would be discouraged if they can't be posted here.
