What can I say, the Big Blue kicked butt in the stock market today.
It's somewhat interesting because IBM has a place in my life. For good and for bad. My father worked for IBM here in Brazil for about 25 years.
If there is one acronym that can take me back to by childhood is "IBM".
Those were the good old days when IBM was sure that the future was in the room-wide computers, almost mocking Bill Gates' "one computer per house" motto.
Finally after 25 years working his ass off for IBM, he was kicked out in a nasty fashion, when this new CEO got in laying off a good bunch of thousand employees around the world.
He's doind fine now working with ISO consulting and all, but those were gray overcast days for my family.
It's good, however, to see that Big Blue got back on track after that huge monster mistake.
