the range is again wide - SOLD the top of range at 214.9 with 30 stp and 100 target. This might be a big ride down, with GBP popup on news.

joy, lets say i tick a trailing stop of 10 pips, so whenever the target price hit, then the stop loss will be 10 pips away, is it ?

I take the liberty to answer on behalf. On your terminal, look for the profit column, hen right click and you'll be able to see trailing stop. There are some fixed ones and there's also custom one where you can set your own ts. Hope that helps. Just doing my bit to help in whatever lil way I can.

Yes. But for gj a ts of 10 will stop you out anytime. One thing about using ts is that when the price is approaching your target price and there's a sudden retracement, your ts may be hit first before reaching your target. I don't normally use a ts unless I'm not in front of my pc.

Hi,

i have done some backtesting with the original system rules, found at the first post.
Range from 18 - 2 GMT, 100TP and 50 SL, Exit Trades manually at 18 GMT, second trade if the first was in stoploss.
You can see the results in the images below.
The backtests are without any commisions and slippage, with 15 minutes Bars.

If i include only a Spread of 5 pips, the net profit in pips is 2632
In 2006, the system works not very well without slippage and commisions !!

My question is: can anybody please check my last triggerlevels and trades ?
And when do start with your trades ?

For the backtests, i entered the trade at 5 GMT morning.
The result does not much change, if i enter the trades at 2 GMT.

Thanks to Nicotina and saaedb for all the good work. Wish I could contribute more to show my appreciation. Also to all those that have added their insight.

I have had two strange occurrences on trading the GJ the last two times. The EA seems to have opened and immediately closed a new GJ position on closing the TP successfully. I was using the EA published prior to the latest correction for Range Start (28Dec), so it was current. I also trade EJ and GU at the same time and had no such problem. I trade Interbank live and ODL demo. It also happened on the demo with same EA on the same dates.

I have attached screen shots with verbage to explain. SAAEDB please help, or anyone else that has experienced this or knows what is happening. InterBank states the trade initiated from my computer IP and hence likely from my EA.

Is it possible that when the EA took the trade, the time was near the "CloseEndOfDay" hour, therefore soon when the trade was executed, it was automatically closed..? It's juz my thought.

I had posted similar problem that happened to me. See my post 2131, Saaedb is on vacation and said he will check it out when he has time.
Mine was on a live account too but only on a mini so my loss wasn't as great as yours , but still a loss.

Thanks for your input. Gerri, no the trade occurred in the middle of the night (0744 and 0652 GMT) and my close of trade was set for 1900GMT, a long way away. Good idea though. It could have been the explanation.

Gerri: I am going to use your indicator. I have downloaded it and it looks good. Will try it tomorrow, since I don't trade Mondays, but will revisit my Monday's trade if I can use the 5 hour (vs 8 hour) window as suggested by a previous member.

COME ON SAAEDB - WE NEED YOU!! Have an ale for us and enjoy your time in the UK. Before I retired, a project of mine had me over there once a month for about 2 years. Hard work, but great fun. Glad the company was picking up the tab because it use was expensive in Cdn $.
