fooling around in the cable thread, coz today the guys quit trading and brought God, Jesus, Darwin, all the crowd into the discussion.

Ah, I had to pop over to the cable thread and see what all the ruckus is about.
Spilled some good red wine on the keyboard as a result of the 'double sin' post.
Oh well, there's plenty more where that came from

Went back to work today which meant I got to trade for most of the day - just scalping but can't complain.
I did think I was going to die of boredom for a few hours there, though - I mean, I even ran out of internet to play on, and had to resort to spider solitaire!
Oh well, guess I shouldn't complain - starting next week, I'll actually have to work during work hours - imagine that! :

btw, it's FREEZING here! I mean, really really cold! I woke up at 1pm yesterday (yeah, ok, don't ask - I slept in a bit) and I thought I was back in San Fran! And this morning, I couldn't feel my fingers! (that would be, after the excruciating pain of ice-cold passed and I was just frozen solid)
Favorite part of the morning - I go to visit my teachers and they say 'oh, you should wear warmer clothes!'
What the hell do you mean 'warmer clothes'? I was told I'd be lucky if it goes bellow 80 here! How much 'warmer clothes' do you think I brought with me?!?

How's everyone doing? I see y'all are trading yen these days... maybe I'll join you for some fun

Say you are an English Banker...when the pound was at it's strongest against the Dollar, you buy a bazillion futures contracts with inflated Pound. Pound sells off and dollar strengthens. Dollar remains strong as Gold reaches new highs, futures are now appreciated on two fronts, the gold appreciation plus the currency valuation.

Am I missing something here, or is that a great way to create wealth out of thin air? You have to love commodity derivatives.

I barely manage forex, let go commodity derivatives...

I've also learned a strategy to cover carry trades with options, in such a way to can sit on the rollover (with a lil luck) for an entire year. Big money, thin margin. Risk is getting caught on the options...

But I didn't go for it. Not now. Are you trading that bunch of markets?

Not trading anything but forex, but you have to wonder about this Gold strength and how the rest of the world feels about it - particularly the Pound. The only rationale for the "inflated" price of gold for the pound is because they already bought it i on the cheap...now the inflated prices are primed for selling.

You have to love it. I've just started research into it. There is a whole world out there for the taking if someone were to take the time to learn the ropes.
