Hi guys (both soldiers like me and generals)!

Today to tomorrow whenever you enter a trade on a live account please take a screen shot of it, delete the account number for your privacy reasons.

Then write the comment on it what made you enter that trade at that moment. Also please write the time you entered the trade (in GMT or Eastern). That captured moment gives a lot of insight into why an experienced trader would enter the market. I am not expecting you to write an encyclopedia on that particular entry, but please do write something.

That screen shot is worth a thousand words (and a lot of $$$$).

Cheers,
Randy, New York.

PS: NoFx, I have sent an email (cannot send PM as I have posted less than 15 posts and I didn’t want to spam the forum just to gain access to that privilege), if you have it please reply, else just contact me using Skype/Yahoo (ID is jat50b).

I'll have to take a pass on that. I think there are plenty of examples of my trades on this thread as you are very well aware. It is a little creepy asking for shots from a trader's live account. Maybe someone else will help you out but I am not your guy.

BTW - ALL the trades I posted in this thread were from my live account - why do you need to see my statement to help you "learn" more. Like I said - creepy.

Hey Wolfer,

It has been awhile. I am no special trader -LOL. I actually am pretty impressed with what you are doing with the EA.

Hope all is well with you and maybe we can skype again soon - I have been a little busy lately but hopefully that will slow down now.

Talk to you later,

Why does everyone want to see live accounts?

Seeing someone else's statement proves nothing. Just because someone can trade a system successfully, it does not mean that you can. I had tried trading systems [in demo] for awhile, and if I cannot produce the results or produce enough winning trades, I will just move on.

Do not backtest a system, it proves nothing. Yes, I know it will give you an idea how a system should perform, but you are playing with the past.

Forward test the system on a demo account to see how you do. This is where you find most of your problems in understanding the rules. This is where you can ask questions to find out what you did wrong or can improve upon.

Once you are satisfied with the forward testing, go live with it. This is the ultimate challenge, demo is nothing like live trading [the fear and greed sets in].....

Nice point there ET - in fact I do not even have a demo account with any broker. I "demo" with real money. Usually minis or micros - but still it is real money so I can still experience fear and greed in the trading process. I do visual back testing as I am sure we all do and I also employ other methods but when it comes right down to learning how a system works I use real money. There is no substitute IMO.

Hey Gnat!! Happy New Year!!

u can try between .45 and .6 (for entry/blue lag) depending on ur objectives.
I also look at a few other things which often give me a heads up BEFORE the blue lag signals.
Macd Colored v 1.03 - default
Lin Q 8 13 3

if u want something a bit slower than macd colored, u can try stoch 5 13 3. u may find this useful for entering after retracements near attempts at dbl tops/botms.

since some of these are not part of EA Snova versions, this would be for manual trading.

hope that helps.

Hallo Ninja!

Thanks and Happy New Year to you too!
I will try the above mentioned settings for the LaGuerre and also the exit side a bit later in your answer to Glenn!
You seem to like LinearQ from Finny a lot. Do you have any other good ways of using it on longer TFs, too? It seems to make manual trading so much easier and also points out continuations at times, which I find an outstanding feature!

Many thanks again and best wishes!
Gnat

Hallo Rick!

I realize that all trades end on the SL. Either the Laguerre is not taking the trade out in time or the PSAR TS is always faster. This is the same for winning and losing trades, while the main problem still seems to be a serious way to take profit.
I have found only one really false signal so far on the 15M I am looking at right now, but especially tonight a lot of trades went into the ditches, as they were unable to take profit or at least break even.
I will have to remodel the whole setup and I am as of now not able to tell you whether the LaGuerre is getting me out again. "In" seems to work, as I am sometime only 1 in other times 3 candles behing the QQEA cross.

On exits I have a question for you: Would it be possible to code the QQEA into the EA twice so that we can enter on one setting and exit on another? I have manually tested that and it is working fine, although I did that on longer TFs recently.

So far my noon-report! Hehehe!

same settings on 1 hr. add standard boll. bands on top of it.

cross below lower bb = up; cross down above upper BB = down
u can see trend contin. when it hangs near the middle BB then continues on in the original direction of the last cross (above/below) the upper or lower BB.

sounds confusing. lol
i'll try and post a pic later.

sorry for the rest of u guys. i know this is a bit off topic.

Hi Gnat,

Great feedback! That is what I need to determine what still needs to be fixed.

OK, so it seems as though the entries are going in clean. Let's focus on the exits. I think the first thing I need to do is improve the reliability of order opens and closes. I have this suspicion that part of the problem is that the EA tries to close an order, fails, and does not retry. I will also look at the Laguerre exit code, since you believe it may be an issue.

Lastly, no problem on adding the ability to supply different parameters to the exit QQEA. Do you also want the ability to specify a different timeframe from the chart time?

Rick

I agree with you totally NOFX, as usual ...
Today I entered a trade on eurjpy at 02:45 gmt+1 (a few minutes ago!). I was following the 1 hour chart waiting for the close at 03:00 to give me enough momentum. But Supernova anticipated so I got 2 minicontracts.
I realized we were in a countertrend against the daily movement so I entered prudently with first TP +20 and second TP the daily pivot. I missed for 1 pip this spike so exited manually this one.

1° C Sell eurjpy @ 160.89 exit 169.67
2° C Sell eurjpy @ 160.82 exit 160.46
for a total of +48 pips ... thanks Supernova

Now price is giving already the up signal .... who want to follow this one with me???
p.s. hope this mini journal is helping someone to keep sticking with the method.

Hello to all other friends and Happy New year again!!!

Hiho Rick!

The different TF for opening and closing has been in my mind and mentioned in the Journal ever since October last year. If you find a good way to do that, it would really be great together with the QQEA-entry-settings being different from the QQEA-exit-settings.
The reliablility of a close really to be executed just like an entry is very important as so far I have witnessed that 1 losing trade is eating up the gains of 2-3 winners!
A question: Is the clean and clear Dot-to-Dot trading possible if I enter on QQEA only and exit with all possibilities set to fault? I think so, but the versions get my head swimming and I guess you know this baby best right now!

Thanks for your great effort and help!
Ciao
GMAtt
