Simple Method of Scalping any pair on 5 min chart , specially GBP/JPY - by Imran Sait

Place it in the same directory as your other indicators. ex4 is just the compiled file created from an mq4 file.

alas with the .ex4 files again...don't get me going on that.

I have a coding question for chandra or anyone else that might know the answer...

The difficulty I am having getting the EA to recognize the crossovers of the stoch relate to the fact that the IndicatorCounted() is involved. This means that when I call the buffer of the indicator from the EA and look for the previous index value of the indicator I don't get the previous bars value.

Attached is the indicator I am working with, when you look at the code you'll see that yes I have cluttered it up with a whole bunch of objects to display related variables on the chart. When the indicator is compiled and before it ticks the "line[]=" the correct value of the current bar and it also gives correct values for each index value "line[x]" x=whatever previous bar.

But once it ticks those values are gone and only randomly return.

Alas, my coding knowledge is inadequate to pull those correct values on demand from the array. I only know that the correct values exist in the index when compiled and before it ticks when counted_bars=0.

Indicators are not my strong suit. Any help is appreciated.

metatrader works things weird. The index of the current bar is 0. If you want to read the value from the previous bar it is 1. The one previous to that would be 2.

I think that is what you are asking for but I have been up since midnight eastern time so everything gets blurry. LOL!

You can remove stoch histo as MACD does the same work and much better for the EA

yes I know how an array is 'supposed' to work. thing is it's complicated in this case by the IndicatorCounted(). The only way I can illustrate is to have you run that code I posted and see what it displays in the window...you can watch the values change tick by tick. If you remove the "/* */" around those objects I have turned off then you really see how dramatic it is. The values it returns are NOT the values of those previous bars.

The macd has the same problem it uses the same "IndicatorCounted()" and the same logic to manage the array..

I'm not ready to make the same conclusion. In times of discouragement I have felt like that so I know where this conclusion comes from. I have tested a lot of systems. I have seen them fall to the chaos. Just because it's not easy does that mean it's impossible? Perhaps the solution is in the discretion applied to the system. Hard fast rules are not flexible enough to manage the chaos but that doesn't mean they are useless or totally invalid.

Personally I don't want to simply conclude it's impossible and stop learning. I have too many evidences that indicate that it IS possible to become a consistently successful trader. Furthermore, and I don't know anyone who is a consistently successful trader who does not follow some system with some degree of disciplined adherence, and some modification of that system by their discretion.

What is obvious to me is that one must learn discretion to become consistently successful BECAUSE the market IS chaotic.

Neither am I yet ready to give up on programming discretionary logic into an automated trading system. It does me no harm to see how far I can push the project along. If it does nothing but help me become a better discretionary trader then it has served a positive purpose.

I would say because

A: Market is clearly in an uptrend
B: Red laguerre is not climbing down, could go on being flat for a while
C: The price is above the daily pivot, therefore we should think bullish.
D: Look at the candle its a small hammer.
E: Price found support on middle bollinger band

Thats what i can think of... But im no expert

first of all price is above pivot line,second BB middle line supporting price ,moving upwards so are all the EMA s.This a perfect example what i have been talking about. one has to understand and use indicators with discretion.did you check higher TF ? novice traders too often rely on indicators and most of them eaten by the shark because of it.

when u see a setup like this which is CT and u wanna short, just wait for th retracement after the signal before u enter to get a better fill in case u r wrong.

What exactly do you mean when you say wait for the retracement, because the price on the chart looks like its already retracing. How much does it need to retrace by before you can enter the trade relatively safely?

Well,

I never traded that pair but if i was, i made sure take into fundamentals for both currency,not news more like sentiments,commodity indexes,higher TF S/R levels.No indicator in the world can focus on the concept of ongoing supply and demand at different price levels.Also in my opinion 5M tf is not for just anybody,personally for very new traders i would not recommend it.

ok, comments welcome on this...

I see the 4h chart is downtrending.

We are below the daily pivot.

m15 chart has all three indicators going short. the price is between the 200 and the 60 ema's

m5 chart
between 60 and 200 emas
indicators 2 of the 3 are short lag is closer to low side ...missed the first part of the move...

m1 chart 2 of the 3 indicators are long

what to do? what to think? When I don't know I stay flat I guess.

ok it's gone down below the 200 ema on the 5 min chart now. who knew? when did you know and why? is this a time to enter? if not when?
