I'm using 0.1 lots for testing but the EA calculates the profit/loss as if it was 1 mini lot.

Also I changed to 0.2 lots and it calculated as if it was 2 mini lots.

This is all I need, someone to test the EA and share the bugs. I think its almost bug free.

One hidden secret to the EA that I've not shared is, if you set the "CloseEndOfDayCandle" parameter to anything more then 23,which nevers happens, the EA doesn't close the open trade at the end of the day (it will only remove the pending orders). And on the next day, if the orders from the previous day are open and profitable it will set their SL to break even, remove the TP and trail it from there based on the TrailingStop value. I did this just to see if I can catch some big move. I also noted, when working with 100/100 settings. at times the 100 pip target was achieved the next day if we let the order run. Please test all these features and try to find the best settings.

OOOPSSS... I got it... 0.1 lot is not meant to be 0.1 mini lot, but 0.1 standard lot

Hmm.... I'm not having this issue. Check the image attached. Is something worng with that?

Not at all... I got it. The demo I'm using is from Alpari and it's set as standard account rather than mini account.

Whatever, I'll backtest it this way for we will have the relative results (win vs. loss) that will be reproduced when we use a mini account.

On the bugs:

No more bugs found

OK, I'll take some time to backtest the strategy using a) 100 SL / w/o re-enter; b) 50SL w/ re-enter since May 2007 montly and will post the results.

That will help, just make sure you have accurate tick data and you use the correct time settings (rangeend/rangestart)

OK. Alpari is +1 so I've changed them already

Will let it running tonight as to check if the orders are going in / out OK.

Got a question saaedb,

When running the backtest, what is the data feed that the EA will get?

For instance, let's say the next H1 after order in goes too +100 then down to -50. Visually you cannot tell what came first, profit or loss.

Need to know that as to be sure the EA is getting the right data to perform the calculations.

P.S. - Never to forget I'm a EA moron when it comes to those details. I'm already feeling like Eintein just because the backtest is spitting out some results rather than errors :

Here is what you want to do, open some chart and set it up the way you like to trade this strategy, then save that as a template with the name of the EA in this case "NicoTinaBreakOut" in the default location. Now open the Strategy Tester and set all the parameters you want. Check the "Use Data" check box and set the time frame you want to test. Now under that checkbox there is another checkbox "Visual mode" check that, slide the slide bar next to it all the way to the right. This will bring up a chart and show you every and every trade/trailing that the EA is doing. you can pause and start this as you wish.

Just to move away from the EA for a little,
anyone else seeing major consolidation since last night? big breakout coming soon?

I stopped trading this system for a little since it's based on breakouts and the ranges have been weird last couple of trading days, but now it doesn't seem to move anywhere just some small range trading...couple of days and a breakout?

Let me know what you guys think.

When I attached it to the chart, now it is giving alert "GBPJPY Error:131". I do not know if anyoneelse having same problem....

Thats an invalide_trade_volume error. Check your EA settings.
What broker are you using? and is the EA std or mini?

if u look in today's 30 minutes chart, both sell and buy stop are strong support and resistance. It's a bit risky so i just put my orders 10 pips away from today's breakout range.

Low 227.54
on Oanda. I do see the possibility of a huge breakout. This pair is really spooled up right now.
