p/s: 20 wma & 30 sma not originally from me. I improvised on the BFD discipline and money management. Putting CHANNEL TREND lines... Fibbo... BB... etc. Did you not been following the whole thread... and making such statement.
If the market is that systematic then everyone will be trading forex.....be their own boss.....Sham, you've a very interesting journal. Will check in often here to learn from seasoned traders.....

Ok I might be wrong but in my experience and what I have been taught by the bank(city group) I use to work for, any trading system must be able to be understood by at least a 10 year old(that its not so complex, I am sure you all know that sophisticated doesn't mean complex), must be systematic enough for it to be computerized and apply optimization techniques on it before trading it(using genetic algorithm or neural network, all forms of artificial intelligence). Yes as Sham says, environment change and it might not work latter, that is why the bank is always monitoring how it's system performs in different market.... if it performs outside a set parameter for say a volatile trending market than we have to go through some steps to correct it.

I was taught that you can't use too much discretion to trade because your emotions will get in the way..... you need to know when to get out before you get in. I have seen it and done it very successfully, day trading, swing trading and long term trend following. Some system can last 2 years without needing any modifications...... How you guys are doing if I am not wrong is trade 1st ask questions latter. But Sham to my pleasant surprise seems to be going on doing it without blowing his account since I follow the tread.
So what do you have to say about your philosophy vs mine.

I'm not using PHD bill williams as my main strategy.
but since you always said that market is all about "Psychology", so I thinkk you might know some of the senior trader that use Psychology trading like Phd Bill Williams ..

In my opinion although market is all about Psychology,but we still can divided market movement/pattern into some category..

usually I only separate the market into two category..one is trending and second is corrective/sideways..
In trending there is two more sub category..one is impulsive(high trend) and second is motive trending(moderate trend)..
For corrective there is more than to two sub category..some of them are flat corrective..zigzag..and some other form..
by knowing what the current market pattern are,we know what the best strategy to use on that market situation..

anyway..diff people have diff approached to the market .
used what your own believe system

I can see now how that this thread is progressing from newbies style towards more challenging and interesting one. We even having the insider... being bcho 18 working with the bank! I am very glad to have this kind of mature discussion.

Before discussing further about the system. Just wanna update everyone about the last entry on Friday. Scalping SELL FROM BOUNCE with price touching 20 wma.

Should have made TP 20pips instead of 25pips Look at how the price bounced back about 1 pips above TP Should have set TP within the price range of previous CSs BODIES... not SHADOWS to capture grater probability. Learning something here.


Tomorrow... high probability that the CABLE gonna bounce back up meaning RETRACEMENT. I'll monitor closely if the BULL is playing around 50%Fibbo or 61.8%Fibbo. Failing to go higher... we'll have high probability that the BIG BEAR gonna take charge! Hence, 2nd TRAIN to the SOUTH. As I said earlier... let the 1st TRAIN pass by... catch the 2nd TRAIN

Thank you for bringing Bill Williams into attention. Frankly speaking... I don't know who he is I know this is bad... I'll do some research on his system when I got time for it. As for now... like I said... eventhough my mama told me not to touch the fire.. I did it anyway. That's the REAL process of learning... by EXPERIENCING. Therefore, over here I might discover something new If I've read many things from Bill... most of my judgment perhaps would be governed by the rules he already set up. I did mentioned about:

80% of the world population DON'T THINK.... mostly follower.
15% THINK that they are THINKING.
5% Only do some serious THINKING.

I am trying to be in the circle of that 5%

This one have SIMILARITY with the DOW Theory I segmentized the market like this as well. There are some ORDER in CHAOS. There is CHAOS in ORDER too.

Believe is a POWERFUL word. From my past experience, I've followed and improvised some systems by myself. Never create one. Still in the category between 80% and 15% of the world population Over here... I started FRESH NEW. Spending some quality time with my beloved wife

Fishing to get away from the hustle bustle of Metro Life and teach me how to be patience.

I will share something regarding my PHILOSOPHY over here but I'll need the whole page to explain this. I will come back to this definitely. Just don't have enough time right now as my "Honey Bunney" already needing my attention.

For instance, the 20 wma technique proposed by msmsms was developed further by zul.... and received many questions regarding it by other members. I did some back testing and find it interesting. Then only I improvised with CHANNEL TREND LINES, Fibbo, BFD Discipline, FA, Psychological factor, Money Management etc.... After a complete PLAN been made then only I TRADE using the technique I might say... I am against FOLLOW BLINDLY.

Another thing is... what is the meaning of EXPERIMENT? Finding out the ANSWER or CONFIRMATION. Most of the time we don't even know what the outcome gonna be. If positive... why? If negative... why? Can be improvised or not? Sometimes... indirectly... some new things can be derived from it. The whole process itself need QUESTIONS before and after. This is what we call EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING.

USD/JPY Week Ahead
USD/JPY sells off as low as 110.50 last week. Break of 111.60 supports confirms that short term down trend from 124.13 has resumed. Initial bias remains on the downside this week as long as 111.42 minor resistances holds and further fall is expected to support at 110.23 and 110.19. Break will encourage deeper decline to 108.99 medium term support. On the upside, above 111.42 will indicate a short term bottom is possibly in place and bring recovery to 112.16 or 113.25 resistance zones.

Still on the WINNING streak This time I will use the word "LUCKY" because I didn't expect at all a small GAP downward gonna happen today. I was expecting GAP upward and ready to take the loss. To my surprise, instead of my SL got hit... My TP got hit! Seriously, this is beyond my control... outside my FA and TA.
