This Forum is full of strategies.

But how many make money?

How often have you pulled the trigger and then found that you are down 5 pips, 10 pips, 20 pips - 50 pips?

I want to find the really bad, worst strategies.

How much have you lost?

Just for fun lets try and find the badest, most awful strategy.

How quickly can you loose £1000, £5000, £50,000?

Here's the rules, so simple:

1 lot at any one time and loose as much as possible, but before you claim a loss you must post your setup and why you chose the trade, and then the outcome.

No cash for the winner, just the cudos of being able to find the worst strategy!!

Obviously the reason that I want to find the absolute worst strategy is so we can do the opposite and all prosper.!!
Repeatedly open a trade and then immediately close it until the spread takes all your money.

I can lose my entire account in 1 minute that way.
On 1 minute chart, create a 1 EMA close and 1 EMA open, in different colors.

Each time they cross open a position with a 1 pip stoploss risking 100 % of your account on the trade.

Enjoy!

Put yours stops to close, take profits to soon, trade a moving average and get in right after big moves, and trade a lot.

Those are better odds than my system. If you do the opposite you might hav a better than 50% chance of winning!
I have spent over 2 years trying to rid myself of the demons that negative thinking has done to me and be positive, and here is a thread dedicated to negative thinking. Yes I take profit too soon and most of my losing trades would have worked with more time ( like 30 min). Fascinating that anyone would want to spend any time, even if you think it's fun, on anything negative.
Any grid system.

Any system using a full martingale.
The worst strategy is reflected by an ineffiecient risk management scheme

I am a positive guy, and generally I am up in this game.

Last week I entered 2 'solid trades', i lost on both. It just got me thinking about doing the opposite.

I think if you put restrictions on the orders then you can truly try and find the worst strategy.

So... let's rephrase is...

What is the worst strategy considering you are never allowed to risk more than 2% of your account balance and you are limited to no more than one trade per hour.

(This should eliminate the suggestions of over-leveraging yourself and doing a million transactions until the spread kills you)
i thinkthe worst strategy is YOUR OWN SELF. so do opposite on whatever you want to do. when you see the chart say Long.. you SHORT. When you see the chart say SHORT, you go LONG.

+1 to that, a very good trader with a so so strategy can still make money

A very bad trader can still loose money with a very good strategy

I'm sure a lot of us have had that thought. I've thought of trading a demo with my best intentions, then trading my real account the opposite. Sort of a roundabout way of tricking myself.

Either way, I figured that would short-circuit my learning process.

Once a trading buddy and I were talking on the phone and found that we each had opposite positions on the same pair. The next day we talked again, and discovered that we both had lost on the trade.

The only way this can happen, regardless of our entry prices, was that my stop was closer to price than his t/p, and his stop was closer than my t/p target. That should tell us something.
What happens more, retracements or breakouts?

I think on 1:1, TP-spread==SL+spread
I am surprised no one hit it yet.

It is simple,and practiced by many -

First, take a trade - any trade, it does not matter what system gets you there.

Second, make certain that you do not practice proper position sizing or money management.

Finally, as a suggestion, trade one full lot per 10K in your account.
