The Tools link is is now active. Thanks to Richard7 for helping test out stockwet's RapidFire trading scripts. These are really simple scripts that will open 3 separate positions at the market. You can set a profit target and a lot size, yes micros also, for each of the three orders also. Or, just open three positions and set the profit target later. NOTE: There is no stop loss built in to these orders. It is up to you to enter a stop loss after the order is opened. If you are not familiar on how to import scripts there is a link, with pictures, to show you how. Open a demo account with your broker to make sure that these scripts do what they are supposed to do for each pair. If there is a pair that is not listed on the site, PM me and I will add the script.

owenkenobi's Rhythm Strength indicator is on the Tools page also. Thanks again for that one.

Again, if there are any broken links or stuff that ain't doin' what it's post tuh be doin' let me know. Pips still has those lollipops to pass around.

hello , look at this chart ,price seems to be in a similar situation with support on 89. Interesting to see how price reacted around it. this was in DEC 2006.

I have decided to give this trade a chance before NFP at 13:30 gmt



5 oct 07

9:25 gmt

eur/usd

seems as if resistance at 8ema got proven, price goes below 21ema
and possibly will hit the 89sma.


short 1,4114

sl 1,4150 2x -36 (atr 30 + 20%)

(a)tp 1,4087 +27 (sma89)

(b)tp 1,4067 +47 (last low)


careful because a head and sholder may be forming on macd

I want to be out or at least breakeven one hour before NFP news


12:39 gmt

there is hardly any movement

the trades are actually at 2x-16 pips

I will keep the trades open and risk the news

---- maybe the wrong decision cause macd is forming a head and shoulder ....

modified sl to infinite to be prepared for NFP

modified (b)tp to 1,4038 +76 (channel TL)

according to the forecast there is a good chance for eur/usd do go down

EurUsd. Can come down to 89sma. Nice RT in the price.(Not MACD)

GbpUsd. I will stay out.

NFP. Be carefull. Watch for breakouts. If you can use short term(don’t if you don’t know how to trade news events), get on board with long term expectations and TP.

this question is adressedto expert traders, Dear experts please tell me if it is possible to trade with this strategy on GBPJPY currency pair...seems that it is possible but i'd rather ask you about this posibility than ask newbies

It surely will work. Do some backtesting on history and see for yourself and share the results with us. Stoploss is big however.

Philip how do you think if I'll use 0.3 0.6 0.9 etc. instead of o.15 0.3 .45 etc. macd levels will it change something in acuracy of signals?

This is a post news entry not affiliated with the 4hr method buuuuut...

Look at the daily chart and how price reacted to the 21 (blue line). Might it be the end of the down move with a trend continuation per the daily? We'll see...

Congratulations ashes! -- I'm really impressed with the way you present your thoughts and how they progressed during the period before NFPR. I doubt there are many of us who can enter a trade and not have doubts during the long wait, especially when news is coming out. I'm so glad it turned out so well, and you had obviously given it a lot of thought. I know you were trying to avoid a spike by taking out your stop ahead of the news, but what were you prepared to do if your connection had failed during that time? At any rate, really impressive, and I'm really pleased for you!

I knew it is newbie question, but I want to get answer you. I am using Onada as broker, but they only have 3 hr chart. Can use any MT4 to analyze, and enter the price level from MT4's 4 hr chart? I just worry to be stop out, if I use stoploss level from MT4's 4 hr chart.

Hi Linda,

I print the forex factory calendar out each week and pin it on my board. Also, if you click on the furthest right column next to each item, it will give you some interesting info about consensus etc. Also, I have Thomson news wires through my broker, which is a top class research and news analysis service.

On other topics, a good week seems to be had by all in the thread. Interesting with the nfp, that it wasnt the 110k figure, but the 89k revision that sent evertything into a fizz!! eurusd was massively bought at 140.35/50 by latam, mideast and e euro players and has propped up nicely. Where next??? eurusd @ 1.45??

I think there are several people that use Oanda for trading and other MT4 'chart brokers' as the charts. It shouldn't be a problem at all...

I was just informed that Interbank uses an 'm' at the end of the currency pair symbol to to trade mini lots so the RapidFire trading scripts will not work right now for Interbank users. I was unaware of this sooooooooo, let me try to change a few things. I'll keep ya posted...Thanks Dan
